Mikel Arteta says Martin Odegaard will be out for "a while" with "significant" ligament damage to his ankle. He said it's "hopefully" not going to be months. #AFC
Oh it's going to be fucking months.

"Martin, welcome to the Dr Mengele Wing of the Arsenal Treatment Centre."

And yes, "hopefully" not going to be months absolutely translates as "it's going to be months".

I wonder if Cone Boy has a slight twinge of regret for selling ESR? Nah, who am I kidding, course not. He'd have played Jesus, Sterling, or Trossard ahead of ESR in the Odegaard role, despite it being perfect for the boy.

Should never have let both ESR and Vieira go.
Should have kept ESR

Stuck out a mile that not enough time was given to ESR and Arteta's over reliance of Odegaard was a mistake . It was obvious that one injury would put us in trouble . Heaven help us if Raya gets a broken hand or something similar because we are seriously weak there as well.

We're seriously weak in many areas, but Diet Pep and Edutard know best :banghead:

Stuck out a mile to you A11, to me and to many on here, but I'll guarantee you that Arteta doesn't see it that way. As I said above, if ESR was still with us, he'd be behind Jesus, Trossard and Sterling for the Odegaard spot, so would still be getting splinters in his arse and watching his career dissipate.

If, as I hope, ESR goes on to have a stellar career, I don't think that Arteta will consider he made a mistake for one second. He'd come out with some bollocks about if he'd put that effort in at the Arsenal, he could have had that career with us. He won't consider that a bloke has to play to show his best. It was clear to me that Arteta never fancied him, even early on when he was bossing games and keeping Odegaard out of the side. Couldn't wait to sub him, even when he controlling the game and always struggled to get a chance after injury.

We buy all sorts of nothing, makeweight players and yet have got rid of a genuine home grown talent, who was never afforded a proper chance. I was saying for two years that he had to leave for the good of his career, but it still makes me fucking furious to think about it.

Seeing some headlines that Saka might have picked up a knock on Ingerland duty. Didn't watch it so can anyone confirm if he looked fucked going off or maybe HOPEFULLY just precautionary....

🚨 Martin Ødegaard has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery and will now aim to return in December instead. 🤕

There was an article about Footballers and Brain Damage on Radio 4 recently and how the Governing Football bodies/associations are looking
to find ways of reducing the number of times players Head the Ball. Whilst I can appreciate why they would (perhaps should) look into it. this Football being what it is ( a physical sport); though it is becoming less and less part of the game as each season goes by to the point where it is becoming more like Ball Room Dancing....Talking of which this is "Utterly Embarrassing" ... Either Merse headed the ball too many times OR he needs the fuckin' money...

🚨Bukayo Saka is expected to be fit for Arsenal when they travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

England manager Lee Carsley confirmed Bukayo Saka’s injury isn’t serious and he was close to making the squad against Finland tonight.
