Getting tickets

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Glorified pre season friendly for £100 a pop. No fucking thanks. Leave it to the day trippers and red members that can’t get Cup Final tickets.

When was the last time you went to a Community Shield? Ticket prices are up to £65 and that's for club Wembley, £25 for much of the upper tier.

Are you travelling there and back on thin air and taking a packed lunch and a flask of orange squash?

i remember the last time we were in the Community Shield - I went to watch it in the Twelve Pins and even the people there were struggling to get excited about the match. Its just a glorified friendly for which if you go you have to pay Wembley prices for. I suppose there are always enough mugs around to be fleeced though. :D

I think it has had its day to be honest. Would prefer the PL to start a week earlier and for the season to finish a week earlier.

Rob, my ticket cost £25. I guarantee that drinking in the Twelve Pins and watching it on the TV will cost you more than a ticket to the game. Unless you are a tight fucker that never gets the drinks in!

My tickets were £20 + £1.65 booking fee. It is £30 for cat C games at Arsenal nowadays. Even the pre-season friendly v Monaco starts at £25 + booking fee.

£25 for a selected number of people. A good chunk in that Arsenal end on the day will be people that have paid £90 for the same ticket. Tickets are flying through touts and ticketing websites for Arsenal end.

City end is a different ball game.

That's not true. Club Wembley was £65, they were the most expensive seats. Only people paying £90 will be on the secondary market which is now saturated.

By the way all those moaning about Charity Shield tickets, I have just seen the price for the Man Utd game in New York. The cheapest seats left are $180!!!

not too bothered about the cost really.
its just that its a "friendly" which makes it meaningless.
I just cant be bothered to attend non competitive games but each to their own. I'm sure you will have a great day out.

What's not true - I didn't argue with prices. I said £25 ticket holders will be high at the ground but a really good chunk of attendees will be secondary market ticket purchasers. Know quite a few that bought tickets at £120.
