Back in the day I bet he bought a Sinclair C5 and when quizzed about computers said "They will never catch on"

Glad we're not going to sign Zaha but typical Wenger to mention that we're interested for him and then a week later when he's off to United follow that up with we were never in for him.
Basically we'd like to sign him but not pay any sort of reasonable transfer fee. About as honest as he gets.

I just hope he's as good value for money as the last fella we bought from them
In contrast to Le Chapman, I think this guy might well be a good signing for us if it happens - which is still a major doubt -and has more to offer to the team/squad immediately than his former team-mate. Admittedly I have only seen him a few times for club and country but I do remember him being Montpellier's best player against us in both games we played. He was a CB in one of them (his main position and the role he also plays for France, I think) and because of their injuries, was used as a defensive midfielder in the return match, where he also impressed. The fact that he can play anywhere in the back 4 and is also handy in a DM position means he would be a good acquisition for the price, especially as we need extra options there. Although I know we desperately need a striker, if we could get him I would be pleased.

Has anyone seen much of Zaha?
I've only seen him a couple of times and he looked more Shaun Wright-Phillips than Robert Pires. If he's already 20 he should maybe have been snapped up before now if he really is that good.
I'm not against bringing on young talent, but right now we need Hummels, Cavani / Lopez and a top DM, not a 'prospect'.

Seen him play three times: once he looked brilliant, once he looked lively and once he was dreadful. He's an inconsistent player at Championship level, where he has very little experience.
I'm sure he has something about him if United want to sign him but exactly the type of player we don't need.

I think rednose see's him as a ronaldo type player - tricky feet, gay and will sell to R.Madrid for a £70mill profit in 5 years time.

Ahhh, but wait till the Summer draws nearer. There'll be spin about the new commercial deals kicking in, more property developments approaching fruition and the old soundbites that we'll soon be able to compete with virtual everyone in Europe. We all know that even if the debt was full paid off and Kroenke gave Wenger £100m to spend, he'd open a high street account and sit there excitedly watching it earn 1% interest

At least all that lovely cash will still be there for the new manager to spend in the summer after wenger resigns amid a blaze of protests after failing to qualify for European football next season

And when you wake up....you'll be watching Lord Wenger's new signings from Ligue Deux lining up against Apollon Limassol on a cold Thursday night and when it finishes 0-0 and there are a few moans from the 25,000 inside the stadium and he utters the words "credit to them they defended very well", you'll be saying "only 4 more years of this to go....SteveO was right about that contract extension"
