The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not impossible odds though.

*Saw the singer at one of Rodigan's nights about 10 years ago, very good.
Been really impressed with him. Chile have struck me as diligent and efficient more than anything else but he has been a real spark whenever he's gotten on the ball. Attacks with real pace but is also highly adept at beating his man from a standing position with not much looking on.

When he is as good as he thinks he is he will be awesome - in the meantime I give you the first half v Spain - good on him but joisus- Fulham - Div 3 beckons
He will have abetter chance of developing into a half decent player with Fulham rather than staying with the Jets in the 'A" league playing against muppets !.How do you think The jets would go against Fulham ?. I think he's made the right choice. :barscarf: :barscarf:

WHAT? Seriously we have some wackos on this forum. It was only a month ago we were complaining BECAUSE we were linked with Vela. Now that we are not and are getting 12m for what is in essence free you complain?

So many over emotional idiots on this board.

Seriously??? Insults moi and calls me an emotional idiot? :box:
The point of my remark really did go over your head, didn't it?

Puma putting pressure n Arsenal to wrap up Balotelli signing in time for kit launch apparently.. After England game I was hoping for this to happen, but after last two games not wanting it at all.

Wenger was quoted saying that there isn't any interest in Balotelli.

His attitude and performance v engerland really surprised me and I did wonder if the guy had finally realised that he needed to change his attitude, but seemingly a leopard doesnt change his spots after all (isnt that right luis ? )

The implications of the expected collapse of the cannibal's move to spain will be massive - in all probabliity sanchez and some others would have been on the market had barca bought him, whilst benzema, di maria, morata and maybe others would have been for sale if madrid bought him. Clubs like ourselves (dont laugh  ), manure, the victims and juve were all hovering waiting to pick up the scraps from barca and madrids tables so now the transfer plans for these clubs will have to be revised and of course this will be replicated down to teams below us etc etc.

Now the selling prices for other strikers on the market will of course shoot up - supply and demand dictates that when there is a shortage of a product/player, then the value of that product/player will immediately increase. Strikers like cavani and falcao will suddenly be THE number 1 strikers available but they would only have been number 2 or 3 had the cannibal kept his teeth to himself

When us Gooners are finished taking the piss out of the suarez fiasco (and that wont be anytime soon  ), we will probably find that we will be one of the most negatively affected clubs in this mess - with a different manager it probably wouldnt affect us that much, but the reality is that we have a manager who refuses to pay top dollar for quality so it is highly unlikely that he will pay a higher price for those players now than what was previously the case

Isn't their a case to be made saying actually Suarez becomes a more attractive prospect as he will be banned for a long time for any international matches...

And if he is banned from all football activities ? I believe that the ban will be universal rather than just international

Agree. And then there is also this question that how much is enough and realistic. I mean, bans given for breaking legs and ending careers haven't been that long...

Maybe this would be right punishment for him... :D

If he got a ban only for international matches, this could on the other hand also speed up his departure from the victims... I don't think barca or real gives a shit if cannibal ate Chiellini alive, it could be that they will give even more pressure to pool to sell him. This can also have a decreasing effect on his price tag if pool wants to get rid of him...

And in hindsight I am thanking god that we didnt buy him - I wasnt sure whether I wanted us to sign him (world class talent - serious problems = ??) but I always accepted that he would have won us the title, but delighted we didnt sign him now
