As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Utter nonsense.
You're either too young to remember those years or you're brain damaged. Either way, you're just wrong.
For someone so big on respect, pretty disgraceful comment tbf...

Chucky defending Wenger? What has the world come to?
"The players were maybe too nervous and put too much pressure on themselves. Today we have been hurt mentally and it is a good opportunity to respond."
Typically nonsensical analysis. We weren't nervous, we were completely uninspiring and by 75 minutes just didn't seem bothered.

This is typical of Wenger, to make it up as you go along. Why can't he be honest and admit that the players were overly confident , and not putting in proper effort. The nervous excuse works really well as it means no one can question his non-existent tactical approach.
rodders999 wrote:"West Ham are a bit more advanced in their preparation. They've played more competitive games than us and we knew that."
Please just fuck off you embarrassing old has been.
He is about 2 decades more advanced in his management of the club than the WH manager. Out fought and out thought on and off the park by people just arriving in the PL. he actually seemed totally stunned by what happened yesterday. A real battler like mouriniho or Ferguson would be raging but Wenger just looks like a rabbit in the headlights. Wrighty was questioning the whole mindset of the club on 606 last night, saying the club seems to be stuck in a rut where they don't really have the desire to be genuine contenders.

Its his fucking job to ensure they put in proper effort or change something, West Ham had a set game plan, made this game a priority over the Europa one, what did Wenger do FUCK ALL
Teams will have there measure now when coming to the Emirates, if a team favourites for the drop can do that to them so easily
How did I miss this gem? This is the reason we have shit up front. You tell em Arsene.
For a man who has been a complete failure in Europe, and hasn't won a league title in 11 years, he sure thinks his opinion matters.when will he be told to shut the fuck up.
I think that's harsh, mate.
He's a development manager who enjoys helping get the best out of young players, so it's completely valid for him to share his views on why top centre backs and strikers are in short supply.
If the question was about tactics or what it takes to win the CL then yeah, he's not the man to ask.
I think people should be careful about writing Wenger off as a complete fraud when he's done so much good for the club and football in general. His views matter and he's earnt the right to share them.
But surely if he believes that he knows where the problem lies, then why hasn't he done anything to address the problem at a club that he has been with for the past two decades ? If anything he is one of the biggest culprits of coaching the players into the tippy tappy bullshite that he claims in affecting the quality of defenders and strikers in the world
What he is actually saying is that the new modern intricate football is affecting him greatly cos he is unable to develop quality defenders or strikers himself, but now he is also unable to poach these players from clubs who have in the past done the developing for him
The day when winning at all costs gave way for winning but only in the Wenger way was the day he should have walked away.
He actively puts his own principles and perceptions above the interests of the club and ahead of achieving success. That's not a throwaway comment - there are tens of examples of him saying that.
I'd rather be some billionaires hobby and actually have a go at winning the big trophies than be Wengers pet project and play out this infuriating Groundhog Day whilst pretending it gives us something to be smug about over the likes of Chelsea and City.

Look at the shite we had to put up with.
Arshavin
Callberllo
Suker
Danilecicius
Jeffers
Aliadiere
Bendtner
Reyes
Chamakh
Park
Podolski
Diawara
Campbell
Aneke
Emanuelle Thomas
Next defenders..
Not having the bit about arshavin, suker or Reyes - suker was a first class goalscorer everywhere he went but had gone past his best when we signed him, and arshavin was played out of position and screwed over by le cock, whilst Reyes looked like he was gonna be a star until the Neville sisters were allowed kick him all over old shatford
Aragones, Wenger and Riley did for Reyes , he went from prospective super star to journeyman around the "b" list clubs of Spain . Shocking handling of a not too educated young man by two managers full of their own self importance a bent referee and a clique within a club that was allowed to grow and should have been handled better..

What a selective list, all managers have good or bad luck with transfers, including players like Caballero or Danilevičius who both had 3 appearences (though Danilevičius did play 70 times for Lithuania national side) just destroys your argument, you could say that we played Yaya Toure (In trials) so Wenger must be great, its just daft. Podolski wasnt "Shite", and which Campbell, Sol (or Kevin, though he went I think just before Wenger arrived) werent shite... As for JET- Jeez the guy played ONCE for us- ONCE. The jurys still out on him anyway- hes at QPR this season..
Incidentally Aneke never made any Arsenal appearences anyway, and Super quality Park one as well, most agree that signing was odd, in fairness though he has made plenty of South Korean international appearences
Theres loads of reasons to pick up Wenger on but lists like this is just fodder for AKBs to laugh at

Weird post. I liked Reyes but remember Henry constantly having a pop at him on the pitch when he didn't pass.
Podolski was shite and everytime he did play as the front man he flattered even more than Giroud. As for Campbell, you can only mean Sol Campbell loooooool. Kevin Campbell was early 90s son.
