Really? It's arguable that Ferguson's the best PL manager of all-time?

The guy who won it 13 times?
Hate the bastard but Sir Alex is the best manager in the history of football.

I think that's even less contentious than Messi being the best player in the history of football (which he is).
Just realised I disagree with both of these statements!

With regards to messi again we are being a bit too era specific. He is no doubt the best player in the world at the moment, but to genuinely be declared the best player of all time he has to do it in the world cup. Pele did it in 1970, Maradona did it in 1986 (with a mediocre team around him) but Messi has had two goes and hasn't shone at all. So in my opinion it's not even up for discussion until he does.
Nor has he won the Copa America, a Sanchez inspired Chile did. Gotta say Maradona was greater, he didn't start diving and cheating till he played in Spain. Not only droveArgentina to 2 World Cup finals, won Napoli there first ever domestic and European titles. Messi should join us and prove how good he is. Ronaldo won titles and champions league with 2 clubs.

Hardly Cristiano Ronaldo's fault that he's been dealt a shit hand with a piss-poor Portugal team for the last decade for a start.
Same applies to Maradona, he practically took them single handed to that final in 1986. I suspect the reason that the World Cup isn't looked at as a barometer because we haven't had a really great WC since 1986.

No mate - it's because international football is bollocks. Maradona winning the title for Napoli is a greater achievement than him dragging Argentina to win the World Con.

In my humble opinion, of course. :D

International football just doesn't carry the same prestige. Granted that's probably particularly more so in England with such a barren period, players like Jamie Vardy and Jonjo Shelvey getting call-ups and with incessant pointless qualifiers against minnows like San Marino punctuating the season at inconvenient points before Christmas.

But generally speaking (certainly in Europe) people seem tired of international football. That Spain team was absolutely immense and played some mesmerising stuff yet people became bored, jealous and bitter incredibly quickly and in future generations they won't be placed in the bracket that they deserve. Likewise with Germany if they win Euro 2016 people will just shrug and think how boring.

People just don't like international football any more. Apart from me, been looking forward to this break for a while :barscarf:

3 months they have had to add someone to the squad, CM and striker desperately needed and here we are 1 day left and Fuck all arriving so far....worrying thing not even linked with anyone at present.

How can Wenger publicly state that are working night and day to secure players???

There has to be an inquiry into what is going on, been told they have 200 million to spend so not short of funds

Is Wenger lying or deliberately misleading the fans, or just patronising them as if they don't really count what they think

The whole thing stinks, its an absolute disgrace

Thing is if Wenger & Wiggy actually sign the players we so desperately need and we then DO win the title that means they have to repeat the same next year and spend even more money on strengthening the squad in order to improve etc - you know that thing that the chavs and man city do....and they &Wenger & Wiggy) DO NOT like spending Our Money. :cussing: :banghead: :box: :cussing:

An underrated part of that that Argentina team is that they had one of the strongest defenses in the tournament, the likes of Valdano were no slouches going forward either, can you imagine Helder Postiga & Elder getting 4 goals in a tournament? Ronaldo played on far worse teams. Messi on the other hand didn't showed up after round 16 and his team still made the final

Everyone knows we need strengthening, the areas are obvious to all

We have to be challenging, and seen to be challenging there is no alternative

This will not make us like city or chelsea, who will always outspend the rest, due to Arab oil money and cash stolen from Russian natural resources

I couldn't give a fuck where we get money from or how much we spend.
What I do care about is Arsenal challenging seriously for major honours, and that's unlikely to happen under the current regime.

He aint see nothing yet the pressure on him will really start to ramp up from now on

If the fans turn in overwhelming numbers, his position will become untenable, like it has done at every other club.....

All of the above, at once.
