THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He (Wenger) has been mugging us off for years. In a way it’s admirable that he doesn’t even bother to hide it any longer.

We have supine fans, an absentee owner and a manager without ambition; what a perfect (shit) storm.

The Forum knew that we had to make a central midfield signing that summer, there was no way we could risk it all on Song.
But we never made that signing.
Summer 2008 in terms of ignoring glaring deficiencies.

At least by way of some mitigation that 2007/08 side was fairly experimental and had made drastic improvements on the last 2 league seasons. The current crop is tried and tested and just not good enough to win titles.

Bet your bottom dollar that in 12 months time there will be the same feelings of frustration because after another disappointing league season and CL campaign that never got off the ground there was just enough promise for Wenger to claim that we are one or two signings away from success before not making those signings.

Laughable really that the bloke has no accountability (other than to Big Stan for providing a healthy return on his investment). For any other manager such bold-faced arrogance would be fatal when things all go tits up but not only will Wenger will be allowed to do the same next season and the season after that and the season after that etc, he will be lauded as a hero and irreplaceable.

A club our size and a "manager" and I use that word loosely when talking about our fraud, effectively waving the white flag on the 1st September. A fucking cretinous vermin piece of shit. FUCK OFF.

Congrats Wenger. You have officially set a new record of making us the only club in Europe who has bought only one player and not one single outfield player. Well done for making us proud you fucking lunatic.

This unambitious idiot is an enemy of the football club and so is anyone who supports him.

£8millon a year to continue to maintain our status as the most redundant club in European football.

Wenger is either incompetent & negligent or utterly insane, either way he should not be the manager of this great club anymore. There are championship sides that have spent more money than us. :banghead: If you didn't know any better you'd have thought we had just won the quadruple. We finished 12 points off top & got knocked out in round 16 by the worst CL team around, a par for the course season and a par for the course awful transfer window that followed. How many times will these IDIOTS watch the same failures play out season after season? And after every season it's "wait till next season", I don't need to wait for next season, I've seen the last 11!

Wenger Out until he's out. If they're not with the movement they don't love this club! :crest: :crest: :banner: It's time we start giving it to our plastic 'fans'.

Enjoy them when they come. He'll be banging them in in City/United/Chav/Bayern colours next season.

I expect the next few weeks to pan out like this:

1. Within the next couple of days we will hear a fierce defence of our transfer policy, the massive squad that we have, "judge us at the end of the season", and Ivan saying that we can sign anyone we like and funds have always been available to the manager. We'll hear that we tried very hard to sign players but that nobody wanted to sell

2. We will beat Stoke at home like we always do, and the smug old twat will be sat in his ivory tower guarded by Patrick Barclay and John Cross stating how despite all the Arsenal fans moaning, we're on course again for the top four for the umpteenth season in succession

3. We'll scrap out a horrible, single goal victory in the CL against mighty Zagreb setting us up nicely for our customary second place finish in the group

4. We will then be 'leetle bit jaded physically' and 'not quite there sharpness wise' for the visit to Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime. Of course, nasty old BT will be to blame for conspiring against Arsenal and making us play an early kick off having only played on the Weds night away from home. The injuries by now will be piling up and we'll be able to blame the international break plus three games in a week thereafter, explaining our woes away as "special circumstances". Welbeck will be two, maybe three, weeks away from fitness for the thirtieth week in a row.

5. The stories will begin to build of who will be coming in the January window and that we've already agreed terms with the likes of Cavani or Benzema, its just that their respective clubs were unwilling to do business in the Summer as they needed to sign replacements

Wenger is doing a fantastic job if his job description is CEO of a business, forget about finishing first, it's not important to finish first because the difference in the financial rewards are minor, fourth is the new first as far as he is concerned thanks to the bloated prize money you get for qualifying for the "be all and end all" cup. Why spend the 150 mill needed to finish top of the pile when you would only gain a fraction of that back in increased prize money?..does not make business sense does it?. Any of the top four places is first from now on.
My understanding of his job title means he is supposed to be a football manager and the aim of that job is to win trophies so he has become a massive f**king joke on that level, he's just a company man intent on maintaining the status quo, Wenger and the board have killed any passion I had for the club, there is still interest there but it's now just a hobby, wins or losses don't move me either way anymore, If we as a club have no desire to compete for the top spot anymore then why should I give a s**t.
I think I'll buy a few shares in the club and watch them rise on the market, it'll be a damn site more fun than watching the club stagnate in real life.

Because we have so many brain dead/retarded pro-wenker c.unts amongst our fanbase, it seems that building a public movement to oust wenker is continually running into opposition so maybe the fans should focus on the owner and the board instead ? If there is one thing assured to put wenker under pressure from above (apart from losing money of course), it is the thought of a large fanbase turning on the board and maybe, just maybe he would be the sacrificial lamb thrown to the wolves 8)
Personally I am ashamed and embarassed that so many fans are unable to differentiate between being fans of The Arsenal and fans of arsole wenker - this great club has existed for well over a century now and has won many trophies and set many landmarks along the way, but to listen to these fcukwits you would think that we had no club prior to the arrival of this money grabbing w*nker :x What is really surprising about that, is that there are so many "oldies" that still support le cock - those fans have lived through so many glory years/decades in the past and should know all too well that the club is not and never will be about one man but yet here we are. Many people on here continue to state their belief that there are far more that want to retain wenker as manager, than those who want him gone - personally I would seriously doubt that and would be more inclined to believe that apathy/resignation has supressed much of the anti-wenger brigade, and a lot of people have bought into this theory that we are in the minority and are afraid to be vocally against him for fear of a backlash. I'm not even going to make a call for fans to stand up and make their feelings heard because it seems that, for many fans, they have to wait until we badly slip before they can see things are ging wrong - let me just say to those people that, in the same way that you are meant to strengthen your squad when you are at the top, so too are you meant to correct what needs to be fixed before it is too late to do so and it looks to me that wenker's successor is going to be set up the same way as moyes was (inheriting a shit squad and taking the blame when it goes tits up  )
