The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In the other news, Suarez will now stay at Victims FC, since he cannot do anything football related for 4 months, I believe that includes transfers too.
Apparently it doesn't and that Spanish dude on twitter Blaugue ( SP?) says that Barcelona and Real Madrid would still be interested i him
The spokeswoman for FIFA said she wasn't sure but I doubt they will try and impose it over transfers as well, too messy and not entirely appropriate either (imo at least).

Guillem Balague is so full of shit, his credibility comes down to a convincing authentic Spanish accent. Naturally within a few hours of the ban being announced he has managed to ascertain both clubs' plans before they've even figured them out themselves.

Right down there with Tancredi Palmeri, Geoff Arsenal and his sidekick McDowell in terms of spreading shit rumours :barscarf:

Any relation to dr sarah tancredi from prison break ?? Jesus christ I would love to shag the bejesus outa her :barscarf: :gus2:

As a replacement for the departing B52 I would say Remy is a step up in class. We still need another top class striker as well I agree.

Chesney
Jenkinson

Oxlade Chamberlain
Giroud

I suppose if we only sell Sagna then that is not too bad - should be able to scrape another 4th place if Giroud doesnt get injured/ Campbell transfers his form from the World Cup

Sagna went on a freebie to $hitty - all because Le Cock & Co didn't sort out a contract with him 2 seasons ago when they knew his contract was due to expire.

As for Campbell he may well show 'Potential' but it will still take him time to adjust to the prem and of course to Le Cock playing him on the wing!

WENGER 100% OUT
Have a day off mate. You might come back refreshed and MAYBE even like something about Arsenal...
erm, you know that disliking Arsene is not the same as disliking Arsenal, right? :rubchin:
No Mate, that's cos all the rubber johnny come lately's think Arsene IS Arsenal.

They Really Do.

HOw dare you question our glorious leader!!! Don't you know he has been in football 30years (insane for 20 of them admittedly )...and so he IS "The Authority" when it comes to all things football...well except...

Tactics
Transfers and transfer negotiations
Playing players out of position
Doing up a coat with a zip
Flapping one's arms about without attracting the attention of the anti-windmill squad
Spending money
Knowing when to make substitutions
Talking sense at post game interviews
Working Tirelessly to sign the desperately need players
Giving his assistant manager the opportunity to bring his knowledge and tactical experience to the fore
Allowing rival football teams to buy our best players...

Other than that what more can be said of such a manager!?

You generalise OBG. There are quite a few old timers and I mean supported Arsenal for a good 4/5 decades who love AW and think the club and Arsene are inseparable. I had a fun conversation with one such fellow at the Stoke away game. He would have called most on here heretics for doubting AW.

There are also quite a few JCL's who joined the club when we were winning sh*t and hate Arsene because the glory they came a-hunting is long gone.....well till Gibbs goal line clearance and Rambo's moment of magic changed all that.

So Van Gaal can get Daley Blind who looks at home on the World stage for about £12million but instead manure will spunk £33million on Luke Shaw, who looked out of his depth on the world stage :banghead:

I wish they would spunk £12m on Danny Blind, he's older than me!

Shaw must be the bestest eva though, he's English.
