Raphina rumours flying around today.

I wouldn't say no.

Not a bad player, but is he fulfilling a need/priority ? I would suggest not. Plus I would love to know what type of price he would come at - personally if you gave me a choice between raphina and olise then I would have picked olise every day of the week and twice on a Sunday, so if we are to buy a winger for similar type of money, then I would be very disappointed that we stood back and allowed olise to go to bayern for fcuk all
He could be rotated with Saka like Martinelli & Trossard do. I saw some BS in one of the rags suggesting that a cash plus Nketiah deal was being offered. Now that would be a steal if true. :D

I understand that logic, but that to me is classic wenger thinking - in latter years (when we had limited funds) wenger used to buy back up players much to my frustration cos our starting 11 had glaring holes and needed to be addressed first. Right now we desperately need a starting left full, a prolific number 9 and a defensive midfielder to play alongside rice, and they should be the priorities above all else - IF we sign the Italian it will lead to a lot of questions for me (is he signed as a centre back or left back, is he a starter or back up, if he is starting left back then will timber be starting right back ?).

If we have the funds available now it'd be a good move to strengthen in depth. I agree with the positions you mention, augie and hope we can get those sorted too.
There were many times last season when you looked at our bench and thought who the hell can we bring on?
To compete with Cheaty you need to have 2 squads like they do. It's my belief that's what Arteta is trying to do.

I see online this morning that we are linked with a move for neto - another quality player for sure, but if some think that olise has injury problems, neto is on a diaby level of injury problems

Arsenal interested in Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley as a possible No2 option for upcoming season. Wolves could be tempted into selling if it gives them funds to reinvest in the squad.

50 million isn't fuck all , especially with his injury problems
Have to agree. Do we really need another sick note? A good player is only good while on the pitch. Sitting in the treatment room is no use to us unfortunately (see Tierney). :|

The Barcawhores only ever sell if the player no longer suits their purpose: Neymar the diving Nonce or if they are no longer of use or value in terms of playing or doesn't work out like they thought he might: Fabregas .
Raphina was overrated at dirty Leeds and has proven to be a Flop with the whores. That and now with his having picked up a continuing injury whilst he was at Barca has led to them wanting him gone, he doesn't want to leave (£200k week) also he has the kind of personality (Oversized-Ego) that aubameyang has and would definitely not fit in with the Team mentality that has been built by Arteta. Besides which he's not that good so fuck him.

Rumours  that we are looking at Neto, who could be a good signing depending on how much?

As for a striker I wish we could sign Ollie Watkins - give the villains some of our unwanted dead wood (Nketiah, Vieira, Weiss-nelson) and Money).

Agree with this. Never seen the fuss about Raphina, overrated in my opinion and wouldn't want him at the Arsenal.

I've probably bored you all enough about this, but Neto is the real deal. I hadn't seen that link, but hope it's true. I did see a link saying that the scum were in for him and I'd be sick if that happened. Yes, he's had injury problems, but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

BBC Sports:

Arsenal are hoping to complete the signing of Riccardo Calafiori this week after holding further talks with Bologna over the Italy defender, 22.

I thought this was a done deal? :? At least according to Fabrizio Romano ...

Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to compete for the signing of England defender Marc Guehi, with the 23-year-old set to reject Crystal Palace’s new contract offer.

Now he would be a very decent signing; has Prem experience, has skills and doesn't mind mixing it up and sticking his foot in if/ when required.

I get Calafiori as he'd be good for LB or LCB but I don't see the point in Guehi unless we're going to sell Big Willy. Guehi isn't going to move to be an understudy.
About time we looked at a midfielder and a striker!!

Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal , here we go! Deal completed between all parties as Calafiori has given final green light 🚨🔴⚪️

Bologna to receive €45 fixed fee plus add-ons up to €5m package.

Calafiori will sign a four year deal, he’ll fly to London today.

Medical booked. ✅

The below from another source

🚨 Riccardo Calafiori's move to Arsenal has significant obstacles to overcome: his price is inflated by a good Euro cup and a sizeable sell-on fee would be due to his former club Basel.

There is also the issue of Calafiori’s history of serious knee problem.🔴🇮🇹 #AFC
