ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Same old story, instead of getting the business done we'll trade you someone we dont consider good enough and a set of hub caps from an 89 fiesta.

Wtf is it with our club. I was hoping we'd moved on from the Old Fraud's days, but it doesn't look like it. Never known a club that takes so long to get a deal over the line and all too often a rival swoops in, pays the money and do the deal. This is nothing new btw and pre-dates Wenger. This also sends the wrong message to the player....yes e want you, but don't think you're worth what your current club want.

I fully understand that there are limits and you can't be mugged (Pepe anyone??), but we haggle over amounts that shouldn't make or break the deal imo. You either want the bloke or you don't.

🚨 EXCL: Arsenal strike agreement with Ajax to sign goalkeeper Tommy Setford. Fee for 18yo #Ajax talent & England youth international around €1m + add-ons. Highly-rated prospect expected to join on initial 4yr contract to bolster #AFC ranks @TheAthleticFC

Marvellous. Now will someone please tell Arteta to forget goalkeepers and defenders for five minutes and buy the striker and centre mid that we desperately need.
He's playing out from the back, Retro. :D

I'll guarantee now, that if we don't get a top quality striker and centre mid, then forget top 2 next season. We'll be back in a fight for top 4.

- Fulham have suggested that they could offer as much as £40million for Smith Rowe, while Palace are unlikely to go that high
- It is understood that neither club has yet formally made an offer

We're probably on the cusp of signing someone, but more than likely a transfer day trolley dash incoming.

Arsenal rejected a bid of around £30million plus bonuses, from Fulham, for Emile Smith Rowe. After seeing their first offer knocked back by the Gunners, Fulham are now considering making an improved proposal. [@MailSport]

That would be a huge no thanks from me I'm afraid - yes he is fast and athletic, but fcuk all brains and he never once got past walker in a 1 v 1 on Sunday. Credit where it is due walker is a great full back, but if you are a top winger at a top club, you simply cannot bottle out of taking your full back on like that

I like him as player, but would prefer Karim Adeyemi from Dortmund who really is F'ing "Quality" - Not just fast (if not quicker than Nico Williams) But the end results when he goes forward (left flank) produce more goals. He can defend too. Sadly I think the Chavscum are in talks :?

🚨 Sources close to Arsenal expect a summer where the profile of new recruits is more akin to Jorginho & Leandro Trossard. According to CBS Sports sources, it is a squad deeper in quality that is Arsenal’s immediate priority now. [@jamesbenge] #afc

Had to be something lost in translation by our Yankee cousins there!

Or are we just looking for "cheap rejects from other clubs"?

Still got 6½ weeks to go so a lot could happen in that time.

C'mon Arsenal get busy with the sales of Nketiah, Nelson and ESR if you want to bank some cash. Stop dilly dallying and get serious.

Agreed. An unforgiveable dismissal of what looked like the best talent to come through our system for decades and I'm including Saka. I hope it hasn't done irrecoverable damage to the boy and that elsewhere he can build the career he looked capable of. I'll wish him nothing but good luck and won't be sorry if it bites Arteta in the arse.

Listen, Arteta and Edu are working 24 hours a day and I'm sorry that the reserve goalie at the Wolves isn't worth 50 million.

It is 50, but sadly thousand and not million.
