THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The whole "who would replace him argument?" is an easy out for pro-Wenger fans to be honest. Anybody who has had success at more than one club - short-term option. Anybody who has had continued success at one club - won't tempt them away.
I remember Stojkovic being mooted a few years ago by Wenger. I may be wrong but it seems he has achieved nothing of note for the last 4 or 5 years managing Nagoya. Bring him on!! :barscarf: :barscarf:

Whomever wants the job will have to be grilled by Wenger....and Wenger will have one of those lists where the interviewee/candidate has to achieve at least a 90% hit rate...by using the correct 'buzz words and phrases' in the interview such as

Jaded
Handbrake
Leggy
Red Zone
Super Quality
Second Gear
Slow To Get Our Rhythm
Defensive Error
Poor refereeing
Financial Fair Play
WE Almost Signed Him
Virtual Defensive errors
Leetul Bit Jet Lag
We are working 25 hours a day 8 days a week
It iz only a slight pull ee will be back in tree weeks
ee came back a bit too urly

'Buying and selling is one way to strengthen your team but that’s not the only way.’

’I have made more than 300 transfers and every time it’s a decision to make. Do you buy the player because he strengthens his squad or not? The solutions we had were not convincing at all.

'It is not always expecting someone coming down from heaven to sort out all your problems. Support is believing in the players, in the squad and this is a good opportunity to do that for our supporters

The man is a bumbling idiot. Spouts utter tosh to press thereby making himself and the Club look like total gits.

I really can't wait for the day he fucks off completely out the Club.

If you have a manager that doesnt have the first clue about tactics, formations and defensive coaching, then buying better players IS the only way to improve the team

The man is an utter, utter c.unt and the way he disrespects the very people that pay his wages (ie us) is an absolute fcuking disgrace  If the day he leaves our club, it is because he is carried out in a pine box, then I will celebrate it just the same cos I have waited a long, long time to get rid of this cancerous c.unt

Jesus. Is that a genuine quote? If so that bit in red offends me. I support the club. The players and the manager must earn my respect and support. For him to imply I'm somehow disloyal because I don't blindly believe in below par and average players is offensive. :x

So in other words, if your a proper fan then you will accept whatever bullshit decisions the club makes. The man treats supporters like we haven't the first clue about football, and need to accept that he knows best. It's statements like these that make me hate him more.

Yep a genuine quote from today's presser unfortunately.

Every time he's asked a question which concerns the feelings of the fans like this one where he's asked to respond to supporters concerns about not signing a striker he's starting to remind me more and more of Peter Hill-Wood with the disdain he shows towards us. He just wants us to blindly support the cult of Wenger and there's no point explaining anything to us because our tiny little minds wouldn't understand anyway

Completely agree, and you can see his will being carried out by stewards at games, as they will throw you out if you shout anything anti-Wenger, what the fuck is this club becoming :banghead:

People just will not, or cannot accept the fact that Wenger is not hell bent on winning the CL or the EPL. The league cup is beneath him so he has a fair crack at the FA cup as it keeps the fans in place (sort of anyway) He has obviously pledged to Stan that he will deliver CL football and you'll probably find the less he has to spend to deliver that promise the more handsomely he is rewarded. Stan doesn't give a rats ass whether we win anything. The fans can go swing, he doesn't have to face them. Cl, CL, CL and the money that comes with it. That is the mantra, the objective, the mission statement. Wenger will leave the club in his 80's a multi, multi millionaire.
