Shaw has been very good, superb at times, for the last few seasons. He's obviously extremely talented and will be our left back for the next 10+ years. The fee is over the top but that's the tax which gets added to English players. Ridiculous really.

I'm as happy as a pig in shit. 2 very good signings with more to come (apparently). No messing about this time - I hope all of our business is done before the end of July.

:barscarf:

There is excessive fee's and then there is a way, way over the top fee  If I was a manure fan facing the prospect of another season of evra (c.unt :x ) at left back then I too would be thrilled at this signing, but the fee makes him the 3rd most expensive defender in history and that is ridiculous.
Kudo's to your manager/board though - they realized the need for player recruitment and they realized the need for urgency and are proceeding with deals even though van gaal is busy with the World Cup. I am interested to know who is targeting these players - firstly the Dutchman can't know much about shaw, but secondly it would seem like the Herrera deal was pushed by the board given that they also tried to sign him last year with a different manager in charge :rubchin:

Personally unless le cock has 2 or 3 transfer deals to announce in the days after the World Cup final, then I don't see how he can escape major criticism for his double jobbing in brazil. Other clubs have proved that deals can be done so the myth that nothing gets done until after the World Cup is utter bullshit. I don't really give a fcuk if he gets an absolute slating cos he is a c*nt and no new contract will change that   :censored: :cussing:

Wenger's views from his ivory tower aren't this day anymore. It's unbelievable that he gives that kind of statements all the time that people have to be embarrassed. Top clubs acts like top clubs and they do what they feel they need to do to be competitive enough. Our Lord of Light has really lost it.

To be honest, I couldn't give two shits about transfer fees. Fans get too wrapped up in them these days.

It's not my money and I've spent a fortune supporting Utd home and away over the last 20 years. So I am beaming from ear to ear at these signings.

Fergie ignored our midfield for too long, he just went after strikers and no.10s. We are spending our money as well, not like Blank Chequebook FC in South West London and the blue side of Manchester.

Apparently Vidal is coming next, with Nani going the other way plus a £40 million transfer fee.

We're not messing around this summer.

This is something that really annoys me a lot in some Arsenal fans. They are so happy that Arsenal makes shit loads of money as it were their money too. Who really gives a fuck how much profit we make if we don't use any of it? I haven't seen any of that cash. Fans only give money to the club, especially those fans who goes to the games and all that. I think they are entitled to demand some use for the profits too.

As a fan, I get extremely annoyed at how MY money is mis-used by the club - mega wages to c.unts like bendtner, almunia, song etc when they arent worth minimum wages really pisses me off  Giving wally, a pacy runner with average football skills, 100k per week does not equate to making best use of club fans. Finally giving 8.5m per season to a serial loser is nothing short of a disgrace and that is why I sacrificed my season tickets at the club - I work long hours and spent money on tickets and travel that I probably couldnt afford, so for them to offer him a new contract is a slap in the face and I am not giving 1p to that c.unts contract

Secondly, who you buy and how much you pay should concern every fan - not being judgemental or anything, but the reality is that you have several positions to upgrade on your team (the whole defence and midfield for starters) so surely you have to budget for that accordingly ? Yes it is important to ensure that the recruitments are of high enough quality, but paying £10m-£15m over the realistic price for shaw, takes away money that could be used elsewhere. I agree that it is important for the fans to see their club showing ambition in the transfer market (whats that like btw ? ) but equally it is about the right players at a realistic price

*obviously I accept that manure will have to pay that bit more as they aint in champs league this season

Have your lot been calling Herrera world class yet? Despite not having heard of him or seen him play before. He plays for United now so he must be...

Him and an overrated overpriced 18 yr old left back are going to do fuck all for you next season.

I very much doubt Vidal would piss away his prime years at a sinking ship but money talks I guess.

Bit of deja vu going on here!

United have now made 2 big money signings, as have Liverpool. Chelsea, we all know have already got Fabregas. City also have Fernando, knicked our right back and are about to sign Zuculini.

Arsenal have signed...................................................FUCK ALL AGAIN.

The situation is quite staggering. Why does every other club in the top 5 or 6 do business early and we just sit on our hands. At the most we must be just over a week away from preseason training beginning (except for the WC players of course) and at that point surely you want to know the players at your disposal so planning can begin.

There is always room for manouvere with regards an extra signing in August if something special comes up or you get a bad injury in training but you surely want to get the bulk of your business done in time for when training begins. It really is the most basic of common sense and I challenge anyone to say otherwise!

It's another example of Wenger simply not learning from his mistakes in the past.

Liverpool have signed three now - Lambert, Lallana and Emre Can.

meanwhile Wonga is enjoying his paid holiday immensely.

Which is Totally understandable- seeing as the manager Before the Last one - used to follow the same philosophy for some 20 odd years...it's called "Buying The Prem".
