Our bench yesterday was a joke. Three full-backs (none of which have set the world on fire for us) and an old CM who is three yards too slow. This less than three weeks after the window closed. Penny-pinching is embarrassing as much as anything else when you look at how much money we have in the bank, how much we have coming in, how much we charge our fans and how much we piss away on wages.

Delivery man had to knock on his door, and made sure he turned up at a time that suits Arsene. Of course if it came at a 95% discount then that's the only time there's "value" of course! Yesterday showed what being part of Wenger's Arsenal is like. When an opposing player clearly cheats and ruins your chances of winning the game, how do our players react. They do fuck all, no harassing or irritating Costa, or even going in hard on him, just accepting what happened and getting on with it. Wenger has bred a team of losers with zero fight, and a team that doesn't give a shit about their teammates. This loser mentality is running through all aspects of the club and wont begin to be eradicated until Wenger fucks off.

All the players had to do was keep their cool,take turns in winding Costa up until he got another booking / red.

We appear to have no nous in the big matches at all

I would argue that the players didn't try to get Costa sent off because it means fuck all to them. They don't feel cheated, they accept the game is gone and go through the motions until FT. None of the players have any passion for the club, and see it as nothing more than a high paying gig, in which the pressure to succeed is off.

it's been said so many times before but- if you stand still, you're moving backwards. we stood still this summer and in doing so moved backwards from an already precarious position. i don't see us finishing fourth this year- it's been said before but we haven't played well once this season and we don't even seem to have that gritty side to our game that got us through at the end of last year. stoke at home, ok we dominated but I'm not at all convinced by it- confidence is seeping away quickly and looking at our fixtures where is the nest nailed on 3 points?

How many times have we been here before. There's no danger of us dropping out the top four.

Sounds about right. We forever remain in the intolerable position of not being good enough to win the title and not being bad enough to drop out of the top 4.

Fans of most other clubs will say they would swap places and take that ... but until you experience the same thing over and over you can't appreciate how mind-numbingly tedious it is.

It just saps the passion and pride out of being a fan when your club clearly isn't giving 100% to be the best they can be. And it is excruciating when we KNOW it is possible to step up another level if the will to do so was there.

since Mourinho returned to Chelsea we have yet to score against a goal against them let alone come close to beating them (Goal diffence 0:10) so you would have to be pretty thick to think that we are likely to challenge them for the league this season.

if we score 1 goal v them in the 3 matches we have so far scheduled v them it will be an improvement...

this is what I wrote back in July.
to be fair we did score against them in the Community Shield but of course the wait in competitive matches goes on...
