THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This from the man who said "we have no excuses for a poor start"

And didnt want to hear "cheap excuses" for not getting a result at the chavs.

The virtual trophy could get harder soon. PL may lose 4th slot if slackers like Arsenal don't improve the coefficient.
Wenger needs to get some players in to compete at the top level. You can be sure the big 3 spenders will.

It says on the official site 3 hours ago that "his knee is swollen and he is being assessed but we hope it is just a short-term problem"
4 days after the game and the knee is still swollen, that is not at all encouraging.

I think even Wenger realises that we are almost bereft of any sort of adequate cover for Coq, there is no way he can be risked against Spurs even if fit to play. Hopefully it isn't any more ominous than that. He has been our most consistent player so far this season, playing well and keeping the bookings to a minimum, we really need him to start the big games.

Absolutely ominous. :|

You simply cannot believe anything our medical staff or Wenger say in relation to injuries. Fully expect a "leetle bit neegle" to kick in and then "a tiny reaction" and boom boppa boom bang it's May 2016 and he's still out injured.

If you are classifying a trip to Leicester as a 'big game' then we really are in bother.

It's worth 3 points and the game after is Manure so it's very important. I get your point but we know Leicester will get stuck in and they never give up so Coq is vital. We don't want to drop any more points this early, especially with all the CL games coming up.

Anyone have any idea when they decide the places available to each country for the following years CL?

If it is before Jan I expect to see panic signings galore if the BPL did lose the 4th slot!

Or maybe not as our team is strong enough to compete already

Really worried about the Coq situation as with everyone else but really who'd have dreamed this could happen back when the window was open, it was unthinkable :banghead:

A bit surprised to read this - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... wide%20p$1

Looks like he promised his wife that he would walk away from football a couple of years ago. Pity that he didn't.
