ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We have £65m to spend as it stands. No need to sell.

£65m ??? No wonder we are after merino - buy cheap second rate players and retain the shite we have already accumulated (yes I am looking at you vieira you portugese pussy  ) and then wonder why we cant bridge the gap to citeeh   Does that £65m inc the money we received for smith-rowe ? Meagre budget if so.

With Merino, sounds like we’ve been caught on the fly. Tipping us to sign a striker may be a long shot now.

🚨 JUST IN from @ed_aarons:

Arsenal's first official bid for Mikel Merino, believed to be worth €25m, was rejected. 🇪🇸

Real Sociedad are holding out for a fee of around €35m. 💵

Typical Arsenal  10m short of the asking price.

Can't we just throw in the slug, the feather and the cocktail stick and say "ere ya Go! Three Top Players ( :-P ) and £25mill...

The saving on those three's wages alone would pay for the deal and then some. :?

I'm hoping we'll reply with a strong bid of €25,000,001.

Knowing us, we'll tell them we're not interested in offering any more money then in about a week's time, ring them up and ask if they're open to selling us Zubimendi for 250 grand.

Not only are we shite at transfers BUT we drag them out so long that truly no-one gives a flying fuck if we sign the player or not. Especially when it’s a player that barely anyone knew existed 3 months ago.
