Re: EU referendum - What will you vote?
Good point Herd, interestingly nothings going to change on that front either way, if Brexit happens the Remainers will moan about everything for ever more and if it doesn't happen the Brexiteers will be up in arms until god knows when.... so looking forward to the vitriolic rhetoric either way for the next few decades

It's not that I want this thread to go on ad infinitum or anything
.........but.........have you heard about one of the latest new laws coming from the overpaid and out of touch cretinous EU autocrats??
This one says that we will all need to pay insurance for anything which runs on wheels. Even if it never actually goes anywhere.
Stand by to spend even more unnecessary money. You will have to insure your fucking lawnmower in case it leaves your garden and causes mayhem on the M25.
Motor museum exhibits. Children's cars. Tractors which never leave the farm.
I'm guessing this latest stupidity is driven by one of the ten thousand EU beaurocrats who earn more than the Prime Minister of the UK and who needs to justify his/her existence by making "a difference " to the lives of EU citizens.

Anyone who has read the resignation email by the UK's top diplomat, Sir Ivan Rogers will realise that the government has not got a clue what it is doing.
For his resignation to be brushed aside by Brexiteers as good news shows how backwards the country is heading.

SlyNews did a big "expose" the other day. All negative. You're all racists. The immigrants are scared of you. Everything has turned to shit. Britain is now officially back in the Dark Ages. Really good balanced piece of reportage...

Ah. The old banana curvature regulations
EU regulations are fairly soft on bananas. Not so with bread - the EU has 1,246 rules governing your loaf. Poor old milk has a massive 12,653 regulations.
When you wash your face you might spare a thought for your poor old mirror. It has had to endure 172 regulations. Your towel 454 regs.
The EU legal documents which govern our lives would make a stack of paper as tall as Nelson's Column and then some. The stack is growing all the time.

Have you ever looked at retarded UK laws? For the curved banana regulations you have the illegality to either die in the House Commons or be drunk in a Public House. Every country does it, but it's easy to have a pop at the Europeans.

I am sure there's loads more both in Europe and the UK, just keeping it balanced.
Not much to say about Brexit at the moment, until the Supreme Court rules on the Government appeal. Ohh apart from 20,000 jobs going in the city.

Regarding daft laws, most of the ones on the UK statute books were created many moons ago. I haven't seen any new ones which are plain daft. I really can't envisage any UK politician ever proposing any new law which is anywhere near as ridiculous as the latest EU bollocks.
Whilst on the subject of bollocks

I am sure if I looked hard enough I could find some OG. The Pasty tax although never implemented is a perfectly good example.olgitgooner wrote:And a happy new year to you too nuttynut flush gooner wrote:Happy New Year OG.olgitgooner wrote:Ah. The old banana curvature regulations![]()

20,000 is the tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately I won't be in a position to debate as much this year, I need to earn some coinage and work on getting my website up and running.

Where are the doom mongers now? Chippy, Nutty, Rob.........."The Bank had issued dire warnings against a vote to leave the European Union, with governor Mark Carney even saying the country could slip into recession.
Instead, the FTSE 100 closed on a record high for the sixth consecutive time on Thursday, the same day figures were released suggesting Britain was the fastest-growing of the advanced economies last year, with the services sector hitting a 17-month high."
