It seems a strange decision to keep those two playing when he has rested 6 other players.
Not sure how you can want to get players injured, even Wenger is not that sick
Gunner Rob wrote:forget sanogoals - if Giroud gets injured tomorrow then we will have to play away in Munich and the NLD with JOEL CAMPBELL as our one remaining striker.
that for me is a sackable offence
aint gonna happen, sanchez would be moved up top, fuck knows who'd go on the wings though?can we recall Gnabry from wba?
Don't worry he won't be signing anyone else in January, despite the papers linking us with every available player
Sean wrote:To be fair, Campbell was signed as a striker and has never been played there.
Familiar story, right? I wish he'd stop with the total football shite, the stubborn old bastard.

Indeed. Groundhog season #8
And equally like every other 'striker' we have he doesn't have the high-quality all-round game required to play there - pace, power, movement, finishing, composure, passing, fitness, aerial ability, link-up play.
Van Persie had all of those things so skewed perceptions slightly. Reality is there are probably only about 4 strikers in Europe who could play that role really effectively because it's so demanding.
It's true that Campbell has fuck all football intelligence. Another foreign kid who was bought young and did fuck all for the Arsenal. I thought he was 16 when we signed him, but he was 19. Now he's 23 and he hasn't come on at all! Another indictment of The Old Fraud.
Could Welbeck have been the answer if he was ever fit? Assuming he was ever coached properly? He had workrate and mobility and also had good games and goals for England on occasion (I know, but still). I know players aren't actually coached or taught anything by The Old Fraud, they are very much left to their own devices to figure it out for themselves, which with this generation it's the blind leading the blind unfortunately.
I am sure Ian Wright could teach our laughable pool of strikers a thing or two. What the fuck is he doing coaching at Franchise FC?
We are fucked for strikers as long as Wenger persists with Project Giroud. It's like the Denilson years all over again. I'd love Walcott to succeed, but like Jack Wheelchair, he is not built anywhere near enough to succeed in this league. Look at Sanchez, he's short but he's strong as fuck.
I hate how Wenger never brought any of our ex-players back as coaches (Bould and Henry, excepted. And what the fuck can they actually do with the dictator in charge?).
Much as a like to criticise Wenger, maybe he actually got it right on Weds night.
Resting so many players may have seen us out the cup but in terms of the league and the way we played second half against the Swans you can't really argue that resting them was a bad thing.
We know he doesn't rate the league cup at all so why many people thought anything was going to change in it is laughable.
I really don't care about the cups at the moment, the PL is absolutely dire this season as are our direct rivals so maybe, just maybe we actually have a chance of doing better than 3rd/4th, i'm more than willing to sacrifice the LC to give us a chance as improbable as it may be

Except we lost ox and Theo on Tuesday night.
Wenger got it wrong he picked a team which he thought would be good enough to do the job, sadly they got found out by an average Sheff Wed side, respect to the fans who travelled but don't see going out of the league cup as a great disaster
Don't think anybody should have looked at those kids we had lining up against a decent, motivated Championship outfit away from home and thought we'd win.

Certainly no disaster but more very disappointing in the attitude and performance and obviously we couldn't afford any Injuries to any of the first 11.

Really cant judge Campbell on such a few minutes of play least of all football intellegence- he wasnt able to play for us due to work permit problems till last season, much of which was spent at Villareal on loan , think your being unfair mate there- his goal showed more composure than many AFC players weve seen.
Afraid Welbeck isnt any answer other than "NO" AW is rumoured not to have wanted him, been pretty permacrocked and even when not he just didnt seem to have what we need at all. I like the guy especially for knocking out Manure, but dont honestly see focussing on Welbeck for the future is anything but worse for us that Giroud, who at least can get the ball in the net reasonably often
