First Eddie, now Vieira…..if we can just manage to flush Partey between now and the window closing I’ll be walking around with a semi until Christmas

Don’t be ridiculous. Williams is quality.augie wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 2:38 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 2:25 pm𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Arsenal now weighing up move for Nico Williams (22) in last week of transfer window!

That would be a big no thanks from me - I see him as a less bulky version of adama traore or doku, in other words all pace but fcuk all brains. Those type of footballers always look good at youtr mid level clubs where the gameplan is based around energy and commitment, but when they step up to the top level and a more intricate/thinking man's tactics are needed they constantly struggle

If we can sell Vieira eventually, if we recoup 25m it will be a right result!!
Glad he's gone.

Be gone Fake Vieira,mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 7:00 pmEXCL: Porto agree deal to re-sign Fabio Vieira on loan from Arsenal. Not in #AFC squad for #AVFC as #FCPorto finalise move to bring midfielder back after 2022 sale. Merino arrival + Nwaneri rise reduces minutes & 24yo needs regular action @TheAthleticFC

And as augie rightly says I doubt he has the guile and deftness of touch or football brain for the PL. Reminds me a bit of that headless chicken at villa years ago - was it Tony Daly? Would Sprint with the ball at a hundred miles an hour and the accidentally run off the pitch at the end line and then try cross the ball before colliding with the advertising hoardings. All pace and power, no brains.

Surely that's a treble flush special?! Or as the long gone Tom Kingsbury used to call it on here years ago, "a poowank".rodders999 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 6:39 pmFirst Eddie, now Vieira…..if we can just manage to flush Partey between now and the window closing I’ll be walking around with a semi until Christmas![]()

Sancho is a proper player. I'd take him.

Yeah! Sign him and let him score the winner against Manure in December.

We've had a few like that Alan Skirton and Glen Helder come to mind.

With Vieira being let go, why did we getrid of ESR.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Regardless of the number of midfielders in the squad, ESR had no future under Arteta. It was obvious at least 2 years ago. If ESR had figured in his plans, then he wouldn't have bought Vieira and to a lesser extent Jorginho and Trossard.
Its a travesty that he's no longer at the club, but sitting on the bench watching all sorts of non entities ahead of him was criminal. I hope he has a stellar career that sends a message to cone boy.

This is 90s babble from a bunch of whinny old men. Spain produces the most high IQ and tactically astute players in world football. Him and Lamin Yamal were easily the best players at the Euros. These are technically gifted and very intelligent players and it is disingenuous to suggest otherwise. He walks into any team in the PL. Academic conversation anyway. He will go to Barcelona if they can free themselves of their economic shackles.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 8:23 pmDon't be nonsensical.
