As much as I'm not huge fan, I'm shocked as fuck to see Denilson getting it on here. He was, apart from Toure, our best player today. He is limited but for all his drawbacks he played as good as I would have hoped he could.

It's the rest who fucked up.
You obviously are a fan because everyone else that watched that match saw how shit he really was. Muscled off the ball time and time again.
Our best player??
Our worst player more like.

Dropping Song for him was another massive mistake from Wenger.

It will.

Knocked out with a whimper, not a roar.

Is there any worse way to get knocked out of a competition??

Last season all over again for me. It comes to the crunch, we bottle it (Wenger as well).

Probably be Chelsea vs Utd in CL and FA Cup finals AGAIN.

No.5 I'll tell you the reason why I'm not deleting threads, if we lose the other semi I wouldn't expect all the opinions to be in one thread, right now there's an out-pouring of frustration anger and disbelief at the nature of the loss today altho some of it sounds like it's straight out of the playground. just for tonite I'm goin to turn a blind eye as it is understandable :banghead:

IMO the only reason for today that makes any sense of all this, is it's entirely possible that AW and the players it has to be said effectively dumped this trophy in pursuit of CL glory, I know that if we'd won we would've only had one more match AFTER the CL final but the players' minds are obviously elsewhere, and I have to agree with one or two others on here in that altho AW's tatics stunk the place out at the end of the day with the possible exception of Theo all our players did too!

IMO the pitch was nothin less than a disgrace on which neither team managed to perform anywhere near their best and we hardly ever win scrappy games where as the Chavs are expert at it!

I can't remember the last time I saw Cesc misplace so many passes and generally be so out of touch and we played as tho on a damage limitation exercise, as long as we didn't get thumped 4-0 like we did the last time we decided to throw all our eggs in one basket, then I honestly think that AW thinks it's a price worth paying!

Ok, I didn't watch the match because I couldn't get a telecast. :banghead: (Disgrace...especially when Sunderland v Hull was on live...)

But I have read reports and a few of the comments on here.

All I have to add is...

1. Why was Song dropped in favour of that anonymous waste of space Denilson? Song may not have many adoring fans, but even his detractors have admitted that he has played well of late. (And yes, I include myself in that group).

2. Arshavin. I would've thought that with Arshavin cup-tied for the Champions' League, Wenger would utilise him in every domestic fixture he was fit for - and for as long as possible. Why sit him on the bench for 75 minutes when he is arguably the freshest of any of our squad. (Not to mention one of the most creative/dangerous...)

3. RVP. Was he really played as a winger?? I know the Dutch have used him there before, but really, look at the options Holland have in attack. Not the right place for him at all.

4. Fabianski. Might be time to admit he's not our next number one Arsene. So erratic its frightening.

Ram

2 and 3 I guess translate globally very quickly.

1. Denilson doesn't deserve the shit he is getting, not this time. Many better players did worse than him.

4. Well yeah, we should have put Mannone in goal innit, we'd be in the FA Cup Final tonight had we benched Fabianski.

RaM don't believe all you hear from so far away, everyone else on here is talking shit anyway.

I think you'll find that I've called Denilson anonymous on a number of occasions before now. Have never rated him, even when others on here might have.

As for Fabianksi, I didn't suggest we should have used someone else vs Chel$ki,, just that I don't think he will ever be the quality we need. (And of course I pre-empted the Wenger speil about him of course needing time to develop as quality keepers pass us by in the future.) Of course I hope I'm wrong, I did have high hopes for the Pole.

If that's the truth then they should all just f**k off. I'm sick of this prioritising sh*t.

To get to the semi-final we have had the easiest route ever, Plymouth, Burnley, Cardiff and Hull.

We got found out big time yesterday that our so called second string players are not upto scratch, notwithstanding Wenger's strange starting 11.
