[quote="projoe"]Swiss starlet set for Gunners switch
[quote]Arsenal have agreed to sign FC Zurich starlet Martin Angha in January 2010, according to reports.
According to 20 Minuten, Arsenal first made contact with the 15-year-old defender in 2007 after he impressed scouts during a football tournament in London.
At the time, Angha said: “I trained there once with the under-19 side. On the very first day, the coach said that they would be very happy to sign me.
“I feel very strongly about FC Zurich and, therefore, would not even consider joining another club in Switzerland.
“But if I could join my dream club – Arsenal – then that is something else.â€

Sakho agent claims Arsenal link
But Gunners could face competition from Bayern
Paris St Germain defender Mamadou Sakho could join either Arsenal or Bayern Munich, according to the player's agent.
Sakho has been linked with a move to the Gunners, with reports claiming scout Gilles Grimandi has been casting an eye over his displays.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, and Ajax centre-back Thomas Vermaelen looks set to sign in North London.
Sakho, 19, could also be a target of the Premier League club, but, according to agent Tim Hager, the Frenchman is being eyed by Bayern.
Hager told sport.co.uk: "He will be moving clubs this summer. Arsenal are interested, but the club are too cheap at the moment.
"Yes, I think a transfer will happen soon. He wants to play football in England and Arsenal are a good club but Manchester United is a better club.
"Arsenal want him, but Manchester United not yet. Barcelona in Spain, and Bayern Munich in the German league are also interested. They are all the teams at the moment that are interested in the player.
"But the most interested club is Arsenal, they want him the most. Bayern Munich is a top European club, so I think it will be Bayern or Arsenal."

Sneijder to fight for Real future
[quote]Wesley Sneijder has signalled his intention to remain with Real Madrid, amid suggestions he could be a target for Arsenal.
The capture of Kaka and imminent arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo have cast doubt on the futures of a number of players at Real, Sneijder among them.
The Holland international midfielder was a key player for Real a couple of seasons ago, but a knee injury picked up in the summer of 2008 set his career back.
He failed to nail down a regular start once returning from injury and with new faces heading to the Bernabeu, it is being claimed he is surplus to requirements.
Arsene Wenger is reported to be monitoring the situation, but Sneijder’s agent claims the midfielder wants to fight for his future at Real.

Sneijder was a top quality player a couple of years back and would have fitted in with our style of football perfectly but right now I wouldnt be in favour of signing him. It isnt that I dont think that he can be top quality player again because I think that he can be but, as has been said already, the positions that suit him best are already well catered for (wing nasri, centre midfield cesc & support striker arshavin). Of course that probably only increases the likelihood of us signing him

Tbh i'm surprised Utd didn't write Sneijder or even Robben or both into the Ronaldo deal, Sneijder and 55-60m for Ronaldo would have been a great bit of business for Utd.
As for him joining us, although we have far more pressing needs, i would find it difficuilt not to be happy if we signed a player of his quality, but i could only see it happening if there were plans afoot to unload Cesc and Sneijder was been signed to replace him, however sad it would be to lose Cesc if this was the case it would be a good bit of business, a fit Sneijder would be an excellent replacement for Cesc and would cost us half what we could get for Cesc.

sneijder is a great player however he is too injury prone for my liking and Im not sure about real letting him go, with guti retiring and van der vaart just being a poor mans sneijder I dont think they would sell him.Bergkamp-Genius wrote:Tbh i'm surprised Utd didn't write Sneijder or even Robben or both into the Ronaldo deal, Sneijder and 55-60m for Ronaldo would have been a great bit of business for Utd.

TIME IT WAS ADE-BYE-OR
14th June 2009 By Harry Pratt

[quote]ARSENE Wenger must get rid of Arsenal rebel Emmanuel Adebayor – and order Robin van Persie to shut up about his new contract.
The blunt message for Wenger to sort out his trouble-making strikers comes from former Gunners hitman, Charlie Nicholas.
The fed-up Sky Sports pundit reckons the unsettled Adebayor should be sold to the highest bidder – along with William Gallas, Emmanuel Eboue and Johan Djourou – as part of a huge summer clear-out at the Emirates.
He believes that will allow the Arsenal board to fund an essential spending spree, with a world-class goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker on the Frenchman’s shopping list.
Nicholas, a Highbury favourite in the 1980s, said: “Arsene is no fool, he knows where the problem lies and he’s already identified what he needs.
“Defensively, we’re not good enough. We need a keeper, at least one central defender and after that you’re looking for a top-class midfielder – and another striker.
“I think Adebayor will be sold if the right money comes in. They were very close to doing a deal with AC Milan last summer and I know Chelsea were also sniffing around.â€

Aston Villa set to swoop for £3million Arsenal defender?
http://www.fansfc.com/story/12459.htmlAston Villa Football Club hope to land Philippe Senderos for £3million this summer.
The Switzerland international spent last season on loan at AC Milan, after slipping down the pecking order for places in Arsene Wenger’s back four at Arsenal.
Senderos admits he would like to remain in Italy, but after making just 12 appearances last season, Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani has already ruled out a deal for the 24-year-old.
Senderos’ plight with the Londoners looks to be gotten worse with Wenger about to bring in Thomas Vermaelen for £11million, and reports suggest Martin O’Neill may bid for the Swiss this summer.
The Villa manager has lost Martin Laursen through retirement and is looking for a replacement, and he is said to be hopeful of landing the former Servette man for £3million.
Fair play to charlie nic who always strikes me as a guy with his finger on the pulse. It seems funny that both himself and lee dixon who are both former players have identified the need for a top class keeper along with the defenders and misfielders that everybody knows that we need. There are many on here that believe that almunia is good enough and while I agree that there are far more pressing needs it has never left my mind that almunia is not good enough to be number 1 at a club as big as ours.
Would be willing to go along with most of his suggested departees as well with the exception of djouru who I believe has never got a decent chance and could be a good player for us given that decent chance
