I will say spuddy, seeing as you mentioned the rosetinters, that it slightly pisses me off that they go awol from here on days like yesterday. When we do well in a game most are on here after the game discussing the good and bad points after each game even when the rosetinters start prematurely crowing but somehow they cannot bring themselves to show their face when we are putrid like yesterday. If they came on here once and while and actually criticised our players when it is obviously merited then they might actually gain some respect and some might be fairer to their opinions when the boot is on the other foot

Or maybe we just have work to do?

Possibly you have mate - you normally get on here earlier after a good performance though?

Where is the winking and laughing emoticon bdb ?
Anyway mate you have been on here now and posted some honest and critical thoughts so as I said before I give you your dues for that even though I will still defend cesc - hard to believe that the whole thing has turned around so much now that it is bdb that is slating the players and me who is defending them
By the way mate it aint your pc that is playing up cos we have all had the debug failure messages all morning (while you were busy working )

As i say, ive posted today, like after any defeat - and probably been the most critical I have been.

Did anyone think it was strange Song was taken off? I thought he had a good first half (I know I love him). I thought Rosicky should have been given more time because he is probably the only player we have that can make the ball stick to his foot.
Eduardo was poor, the lad is suffering from a dip in form and unfortnately its come at the wrong time - im sure he will come good though.
Would you stick with the 4-3-3 with VP missing, or revert to a 4-4-2?
id be tempted to revert to the latter once Bendtner is back. im not saying 4-3-3 doesnt work, it does brilliantly, but with the players we have fit it might be a solution to stabalise things?

I find it more strange that Denilson is allowed on the pitch in the first place.
It's fair to look at the formation but it's more about twhat you need to be a success in England and marry that with success in Europe. Allied to the general cohesion of the side, and the strength of character that is sadly all too lacking when tested.

To be fair, i thought the strength in character was good - we came out fighting in the second half (and so they should), it was the fact that Chelsea were just a notch or two above us when it counted in most aspects of the game.
But Chelsea are

SPUDMASHER wrote:I'm struggling to even comment on that debacle yesterday. If ever the phrase 'men against boys' was valid it was yesterday. Our players literally just bounced off theirs in every tackle. Dogbreath won and controlled some long upfield punts that he shouldn't have even got near. Physically they were superb.
They just have that little bit of knowhow. They know how far they can go before the foul and they stop just short but do enough to knock players off balance etc. That's not dirty and it's not cheating. It's just very good play.
I cannot understand why we kept crossing into the box. We didn't have a prayer of winning headers in there. Eduardo is only about 5'10" and Arshavin is 2' and a chocolate digestive high. What's the point of crossing. Several times we could have pulled the trigger earlier but we didn't. We have to learn how to do that more against teams like this. They easily restricted us to the long range effort so lets have a few goes from long range. One might go in and change the game. Is it really that hard.
I think yesterday proved what some of us knew. We won't win anything this year. The prem is all but gone now as I can't see the chavs losing four whilst we win every game. To win the CL at some point you have to beat either the Chavs or Manure. We can't do that. To win the FA Cup it's pretty much the same.
Rosetinters prepare. May is going to hurt!!
I agree with the majority of what you say. I dont see how we can be ruled out of the other 3 compitition we are in when its only november, but I get your point.
Walcott annoyed me yesterday, I really fail to see what he brings to the team other than headless running, and crosses into the box which never beat the first man. Rosicky offers much much more than Walcott does, and id even have Eboue over him on the right -seriously I would!!
Chelsea were just much better than we were, its as simple as that really - yes we missed VP and Bendtner up front but the game reminded me of the United semi final last year - we couldnt even get near their box.
Dispointing, what i think we lack is we cant seem to get a win quickly after a defeat (Chelsea and United have both done that thi season). I dont understand why people on here are feeling sorry for Fabregas - he was as liable for the defeat yesterday as anyone. We came out fighting second half which was pleasing, but the cold hard fact is we didnt have enough.
The most worrying thing for me is that it's quite possible we could lose around 8 games this season? If that happens then 4th place is seriously in jeopardy.
i dont care anymore
The Arsenal fans are being cheated, but as long as every home games are
being sold out, they will keep on cheating us.
Protest by NOT buying the Hull tickets that Arsenal are sooooooo keen to sell.

I was surprised to be honest, he was playing well I thought and is stronger then Denilson, I watched Mikel quite closely yesterday and I don't think he is any better then Song so I think it was the wrong move.
I feel sorry for Eduardo, playing at the front of attack is a demanding role, Van Persie adjusted to it but he is no Drogba so Eduardo has no chance, I find Wenger a bit hypocritical over all this, at the start of the season he said he will use the formation to get the best out of the players he has, playing Eduardo up as a lone striker is not getting the best out of him and it won't do in the next month.
TeeCee wrote:The most worrying thing for me is that it's quite possible we could lose around 8 games this season? If that happens then 4th place is seriously in jeopardy.
not sure teecee, we seem very strong against the lower teams (sunderland being the exception). look at our games versus everton, portsmouth, spurs , wigan... and in europe, versus the smaller european teams as well... the problem is stronger teams like manure and chelsea.
and the other thing is that liverpoo and man shitty are dropping a lot of points. i don't see them threatning us. i actually think 4th spot is very secure, but, like everyone, i don't want 4th spot - i want to be fucking champions again, i'm fucking missing it...
The Liverpool match in a few weeks is one that can not be lost, they are out of Europe now so if they get ahead in the league they will stay there and we will be fighting Spurs and Villa for 4th.

Liverpool are in the worst position. In the Ropey league, which means they still play a Euro game every week, and then they play league games on a Sunday - thus most of the time after their rivals have played.
bg fair point about the best xi team you make but how long is the same thing going to be said before a significant change is made. on its day that xi can beat anyone but will never consistently.
most of those guys failed by a distance last year and are potentially doing it again.
the defence is still shocking, and as much as i agree that dodgy manuel isnt fit to wipe jens arse it cant all be blamed on him. we all thought toure was the issue, maybe it is gallas who even though has looked pretty good this year doesnt fill you with confidence, and are the defensive merits of our FB's (in particular clichy who has gone backwards) not highly questionable (even though they still dont seem to contribute much offensively either). i dont think a world class keeper would solve the defensive fragility on his own.
the other thing is, still the issue of strength. in the best xi we have of the midfield and strikers only rvp and song are semi strong, the rest is lightweight. you cant consistently win with such weakness. look at the chavs there mostly huge and strong. physically our best xi cant compete.
the only way to really compare is to see who of ours would get in manures and the chavs sides. at full strength only 2 of cesc rvp and AA23 might get in there sides.
also someones point about bringing song off, it seemed odd but to be fair made little difference, and comparing him to mikel is fair, but you have to remember that many feel mikel has been dissapointing since coming here and not lived up to his supposed reputation.
