As 06 says Papillon is top notch.
Recently I've enjoyed Hague's biography of William Pitt the Younger, Norman Gash (I laughed too)'s biography of the first Lord Liverpool, Simon Schama's Citizens, Boyd Hilton's A Mad Bad and Dangerous People, James Michener's Alaska and Tim Parks' A Season with Verona.
I've also not enjoyed Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, which was boring as fuck.

Moneyball's a great book, Liars Poker (particularly appropriate for you ;) ), the Blind Side and the New New Thing are all good too.
Good film as well.

Got "Shadowplayers: the rise and fall of Factory Records" for Christmas, well chuffed!
And who was a reader of The End, scouse fanzine in the 80s? They've released a book with all the issues... I'm thinking of buying it but someone might have bought it for me already.

Just finished reading The End by Tom Watt.. A fantastic read. Was saddened to finish it really..
Currently reading - John Lennon - The life by Philip Norman. I'd recommend it to anyone here, a great insight to the life of a genius!

I'm going to be reading a lot more books from now on.
My daughter bought me a Kindle for my birthday.
Brilliant. Download any new book for two or three quid. Also read the first chapter for free before you decide to buy or not.

Fantastic isn't it, although in truth I prefer the 'feel' of a physical book...

I like travel books and I am writing one at the moment called The Rough Guide to Cottaging. I do quite a lot of my research on away trips.
