Gus my man, it's not that hard really. You can call ronaldo a cheating scum because he is one and you can call a tottenham fan a scum because he supports your biggest rival, but saying the word "****" is an insult to all jewish people, because the history of that word.
The fact that sp*rs fans keep reffering to themselves as the "**** army" doesn't matter. because i don't care about them and i'm not a season ticket holder at the SHL (i'm not a season at the emirates too, but some jewish people are).
Is racism though any worse than abusing another persons sexuality or parentage? Neither of those things do we have a choice about in life so to taunt them on it could almost be seen as more vulgar!

I am seriously gonna leave this subject now but my last comment is that I have enjoyed the rational debate I have had with some of you and have certainly learnt a lot!

As for it being too big a topic, perhaps you're right, and I know this is naive to suggest, but perhaps The Gooner should take a lead from this debate and reach out to one of the Tottingham fanzines to try and raise jointly the acceptability of the use of "****" etc. Unlikely to work, I know, but, even though I and others think we should all just stop using racist language, Gus, augie etc are right to point to Spurs' use of the word as being a problem.
