Says everything for his confidence - 12 goals ??

At least he's honest I suppose. It'll be 12 more than Park would ever get in a season

It's the sort of figure you would be delighted with if you had another Striker banging in goals. It's also realistic for a first season in the PL. Unfortunately we need more from him

It's PL goals.

15 goals in the first season providing we've got a couple of other players getting a similar amount would be good... if we don't, then we're in trouble!

If he bags 15 PL goals that's not bad for someone that's not going to start every game. Realistically I don't think anybody expected him to come in and bang 25 goals his first season, all those people assuming that the majority of Arsenal fans directly compare him with van Staplecunt and will write him off if he falls below that standard are misguided tossers. Anybody who's watched a game of football in their life can see van Staplecunt is an exceptionally footballer and Giroud isn't going to match him now and realistically never will, but it doesn't mean he's a shit signing.

If he scores 15+ PL goals then as far as I'm concerned it's a decent return in our side atm, it's not his fault that nobody else will score.

Cheers so in fairness if he was to get 10/15 goals in his 1st season i dont think thats too bad,but def need alot of goals from elsewhere in the team.

I think we all knew that Giroud and Podolski would have to combine for about 20-25 in total to make up for RVP's loss. Plus a little more support from the rest of the team. So 12-15 for Giroud and another 5-10 from Podolski is about the level of expectation for both of those players. I think it's a realistic target, which shows some maturity on Giroud's part, to his credit.

What we really need is more midfield scoring - but I feel like shooting from range has been bred-out of our players under Wenger.

we've been shooting a lot from range this season to be fair. cazorla and giroud are quite good at it

I think 12-15 is completely dooable. He seems to be settling in a bit better even taking a couple of longer range attempt, which I'm all for.
