The Yaya Sanogo lack of Progress Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Watching him yesterday I was reminded of the first time I saw Song at the emirates (carling cup sub appearance I think), Songs first few touches were the same (and to be honest I thought it was some kind of joke where some fan had won a prize to spend 10 mins in an Arsenal shirt in a competitive game   ) and look how he turned out

Let's hope barca can be hoodwinked again

Bigger problem is that he doesn't know either... :?

I am amazed that after getting rid of so much deadwood (Chamcrap, Forehead, Arse-shaving etc.) we go and purchase an French/African postman?

Wenger said that we would only purchase "Super Quality" players???????

Surely a bit too early to make any concrete judgement? My main thoughts were he looked quite nervous on the couple of occasions I've seen him play, so time will tell.

As others have said, there are players who have come up through the youth ranks who look more confident.

I'm quite happy to have signed an inexpensive, Ligue 2 'prospect' on a free, but WTF is he doing in the first team? He looks like a giraffe on stilts trying to ice-skate.

I feel sorry for Sanogo. We should be excited that he is at the club. Instead the inexplicable lack of recruitment has resulted in someone who is just 20 years old and who should be finding his feet at the club as a prospect unfairly thrust straight into the first team squad.

If he was playing in the youth team people would be a lot more patient. But in the firsts he has an enormous amount of attention and expectation cast upon him by the fans and media.

Like many before him, he clearly isn't ready for the first team but thats not his fault. The clubs failure to recruit has resulted in him being around the first team and this unfair criticism. Give him a chance, hopefully in time he will develop and prosper.

He's still got more chance of becoming a postman than playing 100 games for us

I do think that Akpom should be given a chance too !
Oh yeah I agree, we have to give the kid a chance, but it's worrying that he seems so inept though. He doesn't even seem to have that youthful enthusiasm that makes kids try to run at people. He just seems lost. :|
Wouldn't you, he was only at the emirates to deliver some mail

Arsene saw him and thought he's a bigun  heard his accent and thought he could do a job, desperate times and all that, before he knew it arsene had taken his mail bag (gave it to Ivan to finish the round) signed him on and chucked him in the mix, he'd only ever played basketball before then

When he has had time to adjust we will see him slam dunking us to the pl title :barscarf:
