We won't see him for the rest of the season then. I have to say Coq went into that tackle in a Wilshere kind of way.

That would be a huge problem.

There could be an argument for wholesale changes, with Ramsey playing centrally instead of Cazorla alongside Flamini, as I just can't see how Cazorla is a viable option at CM without a tenacious player like Coquelin.

Have to say though, I thought he'd just got a bang on the knee and nothing more. Put an ice pack on it, rest up for the week and play at Norwich next weekend :?

It was completely fucking unnecessary for him to launch into that tackle in the first place. Whatever about unavoidable injuries that are part and parcel of the game, the last thing we need to start seeing is our players putting themselves in harms way when there's no need to.

Shudder to think the meltdown there'd be on here if the Flamster had come on and put in a display like Arteta did, then limped off.
Fuck me, Flamoney, the Marseille mercenery, statue man, mr pointy etc, etc........
He be absolutely slaughtered. Some are quite conspicuous in their silence.............

Only seen a fraction of the posts on these threads but seen quite a few people unequivocally stating that Arteta is miles away from being 'up to it'

I must admit it was very sad seeing Arteta out there yesterday - definitely a case of one season too far but that doesn't mean I've forgotten what a fantastic contribution he has made for at least the first 3 year since we signed him. Neither him or Flamoney are the answer anymore - I think everyone here knows that but we will be seeing them whilst Coq is out together with "like a new signing" JW10 being shunted back there ready to take another whack on the glass ankle. Perhaps its time for another Chambers masterclass there like we had at St Mary's last season. Luckily we're blessed with hundreds of options there thanks to the man who has worked in football for 30 years

I was distraught, when many years later, I discovered we'd turned him down as a kid.

Stanley Bowles was another who could score from a corner kick, seen him do it at Arsenal, we was murdered but think it finished 2-2 in the end
I was in the east lower for the 2-2 mate in 1974
It was a virtuoso display from bowles but he never scored from a corner
Kidd put us in front
Then bowles let a ball run across his body before smashing past rimmer from the left hand side of the box at the north bank end
Then peter storey who was playing right back brought him down and he scored the subequent penalty
Radford got a late equaliser
We were bottom of the table
The only goal I remember was paddy roach punching in a George Armstrong corner in 1975 in a 3-1 win against man united

Cazorla scored the winning penalty to put us into the fa cup final in 2014 v Wigan
He scored a cracking free kick in that final to get us back into the game as well
He scored all 6 penaltys he took last season including goals to open scoring at west ham man city and crystal palace
The last penalty he missed was in the shoot out at bradford in the league cup
He is having a good season
The jerking of the knee is staggering
He slipped he missed no excuse but Jesus
He is one of ours
You get behind em when things go wrong or you are as bad as the wenger mentality of group hugs when we win and slumped shouldered shrugs when we lose
Some chap named brady took rather a soft penalty at the heysal in 1980 thank fuck the internet wasn't about
Just because people are sick and tired of wenger doesn't mean every time we have a reverse players need to be castigated
He made a fuck up
I, m sure his aware
Get your head up santi
We have a game in the week

Agreed. Players miss penalties. That's the way it goes.
I'm more pissed off with the result and performance in general. Losing after being in front.
We can talk all day about how much possession we had and chances we had but at the end of the day we lost again to a team you have to beat if you want to challenge for titles.
However Pulis like most decent managers had a game plan and our French bloke didn't know how to beat it.
We all cling to the hope that we are title challengers but I think we can all see how this season is going....................same as the other 4-5-6 seasons.
And I hate to say but is a "perfect" storm brewing here as Spurs are looking very good and may be just about to put together a title challenge.

couldn't give a shit about the result but the Coquelin injury effectively ends our season and that is what is so depressing.

amazing to think that not one outfield player in the world could have improved this squad over the summer

Talking to a couple of blokes at the game on Saturday, I said exactly the same thing only to be told that you can't blame the injuries on Wenger

At a club with ambition (higher than a top4 finish) this news would mean going after and signing a top class Dm in the January window. At le bumholes Arsenal however this wont be the case,we can expect months of flamini shouting pointing, making fuck ups galore and getting pulled out of position all over the place
My money's on Wenger to recall 18 year-old Zelalem to fill in the void (#InternalSolutions)... your typical Wenger move

Delighted to see it all crumble around him. The only way we will see change is if the team starts to fail and we fall out of the top four.

This has to happen for the greater good
