SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I heard that we would not agree to a £10 Million fee for Williams. I thought he was great last season and well worth that price tag. United will go out and spend £17 Million on a replacement for Vidic but we will again dig in the bargain basement and hope we get lucky.

We would only be interested in this fella if we sold Mertesacker, Kos or Vermaelen. There is no chance on earth that we'd have 4 centre backs like that. The fact Djourou wanted to go on loan because he wasn't playing says it all.

Would anyone replace any of those three with this bloke? :?:

But williams is bargain basement in every aspect bar the price tag - he is almost 29 years of age and was unknown up to 18 months ago, has zero champs league experience and has never played in the european or world cup finals so how the fcuk is he suddenly good enough for a club of our stature ? In fact having just done further research I have discovered that he was almost 25 years old when he made his international debut for wales - 25 years old for a country with a smaller player pool to choose from than the english players playing for london clubs alone

agree with Augs and Kiwomya, can't see us buying a 29 year old 4th choice CB
do we even need to buy a CB? Is Miquel going out on laon?
Sagna was brilliant there the one time he played last season. Hasn't Jenks played CB before as well?
We more desperately need at least one more forward (if Sanogo goes on loan 2) and depth in goal

That's me.....no point in worrying about what we do or don't do till the start of the season. We spend enough of the season getting stressed. Might as well just relax.

If they spend on decent players we are on course to finally challenge PROPERLY. If they spend and we don't challenge, then AW's gone. If they don't spend we will be sh*t and AW's gone.

Me, I see this summer as the start of a win-win situation.

Don't worry, be happy whooo, ooo,oo oo,ooo :D

Thing is though its all very well to say wenger will be gone-but NO ONE in the club wants that to happen. A large percentage of the fans might but the board are rock solid behind him.

   WHAT !!!??? Are we signing Joe Cole then!?...

See inspector Clueless has got his excuses ready for being the tight skinflint twonk he is and spending NO Money!!!

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/vie ... d-Higuain/

If it weren't so painful I'd laugh...

Wenker and Gazidis remind me of those two old duffers in the film Changing Places - who have a $1 bet on whether a vagrant (played by eddie murphy?...) can do as good a job as an established stock broker/dealer played by Dan Akroyd...they are THAT tight.
