Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
I heard that we would not agree to a £10 Million fee for Williams. I thought he was great last season and well worth that price tag. United will go out and spend £17 Million on a replacement for Vidic but we will again dig in the bargain basement and hope we get lucky.
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Rumour doing the rounds in Derry, Darren Gibson (from derry) who is still besty mates with shreik, was home at the weekend and told friends that Rooney is going to Arsenal.
Could this post rival Frank's "Joe Cole post"?

SIGN HIGUAIN ALREADY , you old
!

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
We would only be interested in this fella if we sold Mertesacker, Kos or Vermaelen. There is no chance on earth that we'd have 4 centre backs like that. The fact Djourou wanted to go on loan because he wasn't playing says it all.supergeorgegraham wrote:I heard that we would not agree to a £10 Million fee for Williams. Would anyone replace any of those three with this bloke?

But williams is bargain basement in every aspect bar the price tag - he is almost 29 years of age and was unknown up to 18 months ago, has zero champs league experience and has never played in the european or world cup finals so how the fcuk is he suddenly good enough for a club of our stature ? In fact having just done further research I have discovered that he was almost 25 years old when he made his international debut for wales - 25 years old for a country with a smaller player pool to choose from than the english players playing for london clubs alone

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
agree with Augs and Kiwomya, can't see us buying a 29 year old 4th choice CB
do we even need to buy a CB? Is Miquel going out on laon?
Sagna was brilliant there the one time he played last season. Hasn't Jenks played CB before as well?
We more desperately need at least one more forward (if Sanogo goes on loan 2) and depth in goal

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
That's me.....no point in worrying about what we do or don't do till the start of the season. We spend enough of the season getting stressed. Might as well just relax.augie wrote:I think most of us only log onto this thread to read the latest bullshit rumours and then have a laff at the varying responses to said bullshit rumours![]()
If they spend on decent players we are on course to finally challenge PROPERLY. If they spend and we don't challenge, then AW's gone. If they don't spend we will be sh*t and AW's gone.

Me, I see this summer as the start of a win-win situation.
Don't worry, be happy whooo, ooo,oo oo,ooo

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Thing is though its all very well to say wenger will be gone-but NO ONE in the club wants that to happen. A large percentage of the fans might but the board are rock solid behind him.

If it weren't so painful I'd laugh...
Wenker and Gazidis remind me of those two old duffers in the film Changing Places - who have a $1 bet on whether a vagrant (played by eddie murphy?...) can do as good a job as an established stock broker/dealer played by Dan Akroyd...they are THAT tight.

the point isn't that the Duke brothers are tight, it's that they're so rich money has no meaning

Surely if money has no meaning or value then you throw it around like it was confetti ?
