The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Daily Express claims that athletico Madrid are prepared to sell arda turan to fund a move for santi cazorla - swapping turan for santi would be a good deal for us imo 8) Other ath Madrid players might have got the plaudits last season but turan was the player that impressed me the most

Yep. Good player.

Although if we bring any midfielders after passing on Cesc I'll cry.

We should sign GF Ochoa - a very good (free) keeper. Has Aurier signed yet? We've been linked with him since the chicxulub extininction.

#Arsenal is negotiating with David Henen (18). Belgian striker from #RSCA played last year on loan for Monaco. Fee: €1.5M.

Interesting one if we were to sign him. Can't see him flogging Flamini after a year, but struggle to see him pushing Arteta out either as he's a favoured senior player.

Personally although I think Arteta has been scapegoated a bit and people don't acknowledge what a great job he did for 2 seasons, he doesn't really have a role in the side and he looked to struggle with the pace last season. I'm not sure he's fully fit a lot of the time and I think we've rushed him back from a fair few niggly injuries which is catching up with him.

Not the biggest Flamini fan but as a back-up I'm happy.

As if we're the sort of club that would lose out on a world class player for the sake of saving a few quid

Mikel Arteta is wanted in Spain for his champs league experience at Athletic apparently as Hererra heads to manure.. One in, one out. For us and them.

Diaby will be here till he dies or AW does which ever happens first.

Arda Turan swapped for Cazorla is a stupid deal, that involves the new Spanish champs almost bending over for the Arsenal cannon.

Sanchez is off to join Brenda and her band of Victims at Klanfield

The 40million price tag has fluctuated in various outlets today as anything from 32million to 50million,depending on what quality of paper you wipe you rear end with.

We are signing a young player to replace Park, Campbell replaces Barry. Poldi would have to leave to get in anyone else.

Oh.And...........

In defense of Wenger and Higuain I dont think Higgy was interested in a move to the prem. He seems more of a continental- sitting outside a cafe- drinking wine-guy whilst using italian gestures and saying "mommamia".

In defence of Wenger I don't think Real Madrid were overly interested in being hardballed into a quick sell on the cheap when they could just wait a few weeks and get several million more.
