I find Martin Keown and Henry are the worse for defending Wenger. Henry in particular is ridiculous, the amount of times he criticises the team but does it in a generalised way as to not mention Wenger.
Hardly surprising as they are at the club doing their coaching badges, with Wenger as a mentor. Hardly going to bite the hand that feeds them. Keown done that once before to Graham. He came back and has towed the club line since. Even Guardiola spent time with Wenger doing his badges, so he's hardly gonna say anything bad about Wenger or the club. I do believe that if Guardiola is available and is interested in coming to the club, Wenger will step aside with one year remaining on his contract. Wengers domestic turmoil will catch up on him , as it did for Rodgers at Liverpool.
Domestic turmoil??? 2nd in the league, pulled a 2nd round CL qualification out of the fire..... looking good for a new contract and a pay rise if you ask me. Ticked all his personal boxes already. Actually over achieved as far as the league is concerned.Tumble down the log in the next few weeks due to all the injuries (not his fault of course) and then the assault on top 4 can start in earnest in the new year. I don't see any turmoil tbh.

We could be 8 points ahead in the league with 3 games to go, lose all 3 and Wenger would still be treated like a hero that he brought us so close to the title, that unfortunately is the loser mentality running through the club. Look at last season, we were shit up until Christmas, but with the pressure off we went on a 'great' run to finish 3rd and Wenger was a genius again :banghead:

In the scenario I presented we wouldn't win the title, and obviously every fan wants to win it, but it isn't going to happen under Wenger. You seemed to read my post as though I was suggesting that I wouldn't be pleased to see us win it.

We won't win the title. Love The Arsenal but Wenger has not instilled the right mindset. The players do not have the self belief nor the bottle to get the job done. Wenger accepts defeat far too easily and instead of addressing it,he excuses it. That attitude has filtered down throughout the entire club.Glorious failure perhaps... no cigar though.

I think he means turmoil in his personal life mate - I agree that may well catch up with him, Rogers position was worse, it got very nasty. I believe Wengers divorce is going through the French courts which are I understand a lot less generous than the UK to ex spouses (Well ex wives really  ) of wealthy people. Currently whats reported is they have "had a 'separation of bodies' judgment issued by a judge in Paris, meaning that they are free to see other people" .

He has looked more haggard in recent months, maybe he is up late mulling things over or probably shagging

Ask anyone whos got divorced, the focus on their job inevitably lessens as the crunch time nears :|

But a bit like the Bond movies where you know the baddie will ultimately perish, and Bond will get the bird and the glory, you just know at some point the wheels will come off our title chances.

We had a great opportunity just 2 seasons ago before going to pull a bottle job. Based on that, I wouldn't be so absolute in saying it will be another long wait before we get another crack at it, should we bottle this glorious opportunity again.

100% correct, felt a proper Charlie actually believing we would win as well   . We all want to win, but unlike a load of semisectionable delusional Gooners most on here don belive weve got the bottle.

Already this season weve seen us take the foot off Villa and Manures necks- it should have been 5-0 for both games. The Norwich and WBA games were simply nothing like good enough. WBA a gross embarrasment, first loss to them for many a year, and that Santi penalty will haunt me for a while, nearly as bad as Ozils V Marseille   .

We just dont go for the jugular enough and never will with the current set up.

One has to be realistic and ask themselves how many times in the last 10 years have we realistically challenged for the title.

1 time - 07/08 we looked like we might have a side to win it.

The only way we might or will challenge for the title is if we have enough of the right kind of players to take care of things out on the pitch. I still don't think we have enough of these players and I've got a feeling there will always be one side who do, for example this season, Man City.
