1 time - 07/08 we looked like we might have a side to win it.

The only way we might or will challenge for the title is if we have enough of the right kind of players to take care of things out on the pitch. I still don't think we have enough of these players and I've got a feeling there will always be one side who do, for example this season, Man City.

I agree 100%, and realistically there are too many issues with Wenger for us to win the title. He is still tactically inept, and that has been proven with the Ramsey situation. By pure luck he has had to put Ramsey in the middle again, and its worked, but he persists with playing players out of position no matter how unproductive it proves to be. Despite his comments about spending in January, i doubt that will happen, and if it does it will be another Kim Kallstrom. With another manager, id fully expect us to win the title this season, but there are too many issues with Wenger.

100% correct, felt a proper Charlie actually believing we would win as well   . We all want to win, but unlike a load of semisectionable delusional Gooners most on here don belive weve got the bottle.

Already this season weve seen us take the foot off Villa and Manures necks- it should have been 5-0 for both games. The Norwich and WBA games were simply nothing like good enough. WBA a gross embarrasment, first loss to them for many a year, and that Santi penalty will haunt me for a while, nearly as bad as Ozils V Marseille   .

We just dont go for the jugular enough and never will with the current set up.
The chance is there, whether they seize that chance is another matter totally, and going on previous experiences thats in the balance

The manger would obviously need to strengthen in January, but will that happen...........

Loving the constant, boring, pointless negativity.
2nd in the league, into the KO stages of the cl and people just love to moan.
They can't look positive about anything connected to the club. Just love the sniping and relentless criticism.
Just go off, enjoy yourself and them return when we get a new manager ( which I think is someway off).

It's so funny.

I've noticed a subtle change in the sentiment expressed here however.

Win the the league and it will be inspite of Wenger. Well done, I guess just preparing your arguments should we we win the league!!!

Happy Xmas boys ;)

OK, I'll bite:

1). We should be clear at the top.

2). Not for much fucking longer.

Happy new year.

Seriously, how many seasons will it take?? We should/could have been 5 or 6 points clear at the top by now. Every time we get a chance to go clear or go top, we bottle it. Is there lamenting and great wailing from the manager or players?? Not at all, it's just oh well.... and hey ho off we go again. If we hold our own through December and the injured start returning in January Wegner will stay determined to win and prove to the world he DOES NOT have to spend money to win titles. And if he falls short....well so what, can you do better will be the cry??? As I said earlier we do not have the bottle and the manager has no accountability. The board should say to him NOW.... go out in Jan, buy players, win the title or you're out the door. That would light a fire under his complacent arse. But they won't and we will carry on being taken for fools.

Your comment is so laughable, as none of us can see the future, lets look at the last decade as an example of what to expect from a Wenger managed team. We haven't finished in the top two since 2005, which means we haven't challenged for the title since then. As for being 2nd in the league, well we were top in the 2013/2014 season, but still finished 4th. If you want to come on here in March or April and say I told you so as we are properly challenging for the title, then I will gladly admit i'm wrong, but as you know deep down, we wont be near top spot when actual pressure comes on. As for you saying we are in the knockout stages of the CL, (as though it is some achievement ) well lets look at who we were up against. We needed to be less mediocre than Olympiakos and Dynamo Zagreb, I don't consider that an achievement.

Being that you love boring and pointless things, you must be pretty pleased with yourself.

He won't spend extra 100mil on tranfers and contracts to win extra 4mil prize money. The Americans have already figured this out.So just sell you the 'future'..and they don't need the moaning fans as they have enough Muppets on match day to register '60,123' every single match.

Wenger quoted talking about Wellbeck, "He is still not available because of a bone bruising," Wenger said. "That deteriorated and it is a big blow to us because we cannot rotate."

Looking at that he is not looking to recruit a forward in January

Pep gone in the summer to one of United city or chavs. Ancelotti to Munich and Klopp already at Liverpool. Meanwhile we're still fucking saddled with Le Dud.
