THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I oscillate between feeling sad for Wenger then being very, very angry with him, mostly these days with the anger.

I know Arsenal Fan TV is full of the more idiotic members of our fan-base, but I had to laugh at the presenter Robbie saying "it was only one game" after the defeat yesterday. This is systematic of the AKB'S, doesn't matter if Southampton beat us 4-0, or West Ham beat us(at home) or we lose to a Chelsea team giving up points for fun, its only one game. Funny how every game we lose is passed over as an accident, yet the AKB'S kept referencing the great winning run we were on last season. One game only leads to the next for them, if Wenger has achieved a positive result.

Frankly, I'm quite disgusted at some of things said about Wenger on this forum. Some people really go too far. We lost a football match. We're all gutted about it but to wish the man dead is unacceptable and not the Arsenal way. I don't actually believe people posting that shit are Arsenal supporters. There are more things in the world to get angry about. He got a decision wrong that led to losing a football match, he hasn't committed any crime or genocide. If we win the league, and it is still possible I hope those who have been vile to Wenger don't attend the party.

Does theft/fraud count as a crime ? 8 years of being paid like a top manager, but performing like a non league manager must be classed as breaking a law somewhere

Can I just say that this "Arsenal Way" stuff is bullshit and a fading memory pal - we are a classless club with our number 1 priority being profits. We sue a woman in some small shithole town in spain, for having the cheek to have the word "arsenal" in her hat shop name - does that seem like a classy thing to you ? That is but one example from the many classless things that they club has done and stands for nowadays, so I would suggest that you forget about The Arsenal Way cos the people running our club threw that in the bin many years ago  :(

We won't win the league, there won't be a party so they will not be losing any sleep over that. And FYI Wenger has been vile to EVERYBODY who doesn't agree with him, for the past decade.

I call him every name under the sun on here, I genuinely despise the man, and I make absolutely no apologies for it. He's more than capable of making snide remarks and sneering at anyone who dares question him or his methods so he's fair game in my book. However, I would never wish ill health or death on him or call him a peado like that other WUM on here gets off on doing, anyone who does that is a cretin in my book.

Answer me this apart from Guardiola, Ancellotti, Simione, Mourinho, maybe Benetiz and Conte...which other manager can you name between non-league football and the Premier League that could take over from Wenger and move this club up another level?

Why even discuss anyone other that those 3 names though? You can argue whether Pep would come here or not (I personally think he would) but Ancelotti could be here in the morning and Simione could also be easily enticed here in my opinion. The difference a coach like Ancelotti would make to our club would be absolutely astounding, we've become so institutionalised under Wenger we literally do not know how good we could be under a proper regime like that.

I agree, I'd want Ancellotti here tomorrow if we could , apart from the fact he's going to Bayern, but the point I was making if Wenger is a "non-league" level manager why are we only considering the top 5 managers in the world as his only replacements? Surely, we'd be happy for someone like Pardew if Wenger was that bad. But we're not, so he really can't be that bad.

LOL.
So errrr....apart from all those managers who are clearly superior to him WHO ELSE WOULD YOU TAKE?
:coffeespit: :coffeespit:

I'd take Klopp, Luis Enrique, Allegri of Juve, etc...

I think AW is a very lucky man at the moment. If it weren't for the pantomime going on at Old Trafford, the Victims ups and downs and the Chavs car crash of a season, the media would be after him. Our points return in recent matches is abysmal, yet there seems to be little hositity in the press.
