I agree.
But sadly not the current way we play. :(
What do you mean? I know conventional wingers are completely useless for us because we dont get men in the box but johnson has always struck me as so much more then that, especially when cutting in from the right.
Johnson has a good eye for a pass, but is a bit slow.

I am serious when I think we should bid for him if he is unsettled, as has been alleged.

And I am serious that he has the potential to play the Cesc role.

Johnson is a dribbler and crosser of a ball, not a passer!!!

Although I've always thought the guy was a talented winger, I can't believe some of the stuff I've read on this thread. Johnson 'a great player' and 'has the potential to play the Cesc role' ? :? What the feck are you guys smoking because I need to get some of that shit!!!
Are you outraged at the suggestions?

Calm down IHH. Anyone would think we had suggested Johnson plays in goal!

Come to think of it, you have given me an

With Szczesney's height we could use him at centre back and Johnson in goal.

"Only a superoffer of 30m euros plus will get him but now the most likely scenario is a new contract with Valencia"

You really can't make this up, can you! :banghead: :banghead:
If that's true, then............ Without the Cesc money?

Truly time to rip up this club and start again. Mickey Mouse. I wouldn't even call them amateur, as that would be doing a disservice to noble people who try their hardest for the love of their sport.

We would have signed him had Cesc left for Barca. Mata would have no place in the team otherwise...
Which means we should have sorted Cesc out by now, one way or the other, or Nasri, and signed this guy.

Instead, we have two guys who don't want to be at the club.

Fabregas will be leaving, and Nasri wants to. We are in a healthy position.

I reckon Balague is desperately trying to cover himself after saying "Oh, it's gonna go through 100%. I don't think it ever got to that stage.

Arsene Wenger is what's going on.

I can see it now: 'had we known Cesc was leaving we'd have been more active in the market'

Sorry that should read: 'Overall I believe had we known Cesc was leaving we'd have been more focused and driven in the market'

Even so, if we knew there was a clause wasn't SOMEONE aware of this? Seriously this is fucking laughable.

Would you sell Cesc for £30M though? this is the sticking point. If Barcelona don't offer what we want and the player still wants to leave - what do you do? just flog him anyway?

What leaves a REALLY bad taste is that the over the top prices being paid for average talent yet we should let Cesc go for only a few million more.

I really wouldn't be fazed by the bullshit that Guillem geezer talks! It's shite. I reckon we'll sign both Mata and Jagielka. If we don't sihn him, we'll keep Cesc, simples.

What's that Matt Jarvis like as well? Didn't see to much of him last year tbh?

He's a good player, I can't say I'm a massive expert on him but he always looks a cut above the level he's at.

We're in no position to take the moral high ground about laughable offers for players.

Alonso and Scwhartzer would be Arsenal players but for us pissing about.

30 mill for a bloke who doesn't want to play for us? No brainer for me, take the dosh, wish him luck and replace.

I know what you mean and no, I would not want to sell Cesc for what Barcelona offered. But we have to be realistic and the almost 100% chance is that Cesc will go, and for not more than £40m. This is a case of us moving now, with regards to both Cesc and Nasri.

It's hard to see all the machinations of what's going on, and how things will end, but I would not be surprised to see Cesc leave for between £30m and £35m, plus a Barcelona squad player, and no-one will be signed to replace him - plus Nasri will stayand will have an in and out season before moving for top wages.
