This persistent Villa rumour bothers me, I don't feel like watching him "train" with us for 3 months so he can fuck off back to Barcelona. I'd rather watch Giroud, at least then his match experience will benefit us in the long-term.

I do realize we are short on striking options but I hate loan deals!

As a rule I would suggest that loan deals are for the smaller clubs who cannot afford to buy decent players and usually involves younger players. In Italy normal practices regarding loans seems to go right out the window as rival clubs think nothing of loaning players to each other As a Gooner I have no problems with us bringing in a player on loan but only if there is a guaranteed deal in place to be completed in the summer if we decide to proceed - signing villa on loan (as if ) makes no sense and would be a no no for me

Lyon are looking to sell striker Bafetimbi Gomis as they are reluctant to let him go on a free in the summer.

Would anyone like us to take a punt on him? He's a clinical finisher from what I've seen.

Nope seen him a couple of times on espn, he's not much better than what we have
