This would be a bad signing esp for 12m. He is 29 this month FFS.

Muppet Wenger bid 19.5m, 19.5m for Sanchez. I wouldn't blame Barca if they just told him to fuck off and not come back with another bid.

Sad thing is the lad wants to join us according to Kike Marin, who's very very reliable.

Goes without saying that this could/probably is bullshit, but if it is true then this shouldnt be the way to go - if you indentify a player that you really want, then go and agree a price and instalment package. Then, and only then, do you bring up the money you are owed, in an effort to balance the books. Why risk pissing them off before your deal is in place cos if you do, then you know that they will not want to deal with you. This deal has nothing to do with previous deals so we should not muddy the waters by mixing them

Mata had a clause in his contract and Arsenal fucked about waiting to sell Fabregas before sorting it out. The clause expired and Chelsea lobbed millions at Valencia without blinking. Not sure how that's like all this Sanchez talk.

The worry with Sanchez is that we want him, he is genuine World Class so rather then play a game of cat and mouse just pay what they want as its a wise investment before someone else comes in and blows us out of the water.

If the club want to hide behind the fact that we cant compete with these mega rich clubs than dont be so transparent with our moves, be decisive and get them complete before anyone else can think about it.

Peligrini is from Chilie, he will more than know his worth, if we turn this into a saga we are opening the door for them and they will take it.

The point is he any good if he is then 12 million fee is a drop in the ocean on a per week basis $5769.23 to be precise and he will probably take $60 k a week which would have been cheaper than Sagna and he's younger .
However ,I've yet to be convinced of him as a player though although I haven't seen that much of him !
We need quality at the club and maybe he's great but the fact he spent most of his career in France and he's about to hit 29 in a few short days suggests he isn't.

I find it hard to believe that any transfer business involving Arsenal and Barcelona doesn't involve the money they owe us. In fact, it is more than possible that the penny pinching old cook is bidding under 20m and offering to wipe out the debt in order to save money.

I think that would suit Barca to the ground. They sell a player to make space for Suarez, they make some money and they also strike off a debt.

I know it won't happen like that but its plausible.

The victims are going to want Sanchez as a make weight in any deal with Barca involving the cannibal. Time for L'Asshole to stop doing keepie uppies on the Copacabana and nip this in the bud.

Worth remembering Barca also need to conclude business rather swiftly incase their ban comes back in. They need to shit him for Suarez to come in.

They've also sold Fabregas for way under what he's worth. They do odd things that board.

As someone ATID mentions, could well be used as leverage for the money they still owe us. A sort of write off for some of it.

I don't see that them owing us money will make a difference. Barcelona are going to rush transfer business this summer (due to imminent transfer ban) so if anything its more advantageous for them to sell for a higher fee now to free up more funds this summer. And in reality all deals of significant value are likely to be structured installments anyway, and probably not all on such favourable terms as we appear to have given them.

The board will obviously have banked on that income stream so they're not exactly going to write it off and pretend that we've got Sanchez on the cheap. If the deal was to happen (very surprised if it did) it would make sense to write off the installments against the transfer fee but I don't see it being an incentive to push the transfer through unless we are desperately short of cash (not the case) or the interest terms on the existin repayments are punitive towards them (not the case).

And 12m for Debuchy? Can't see it at that fee. Wenger will sign a replacement in his 5-10m false economy bracket.

This along with rigsby's point about the possibility of the transfer embargo on barca being re-instated should absolutely put some impetus on us to make quickly. I understand the argument that le cock is entitled to a holiday, but working for French tv for a month is not a holiday so if he is working for the months of june and early july, then sorting out our transfer business should be where his priorities lie  Other clubs have already shown that transfer business is going on and wont wait for him to finish his jolly up, and that his "nothing gets don't until mid july" has already been shown up as bullshit, so is he that wrapped up in his own little world that he isn't aware of this ?
Barca need a quick sale - they need to get money so that they can spend money. If the embargo comes back in then they wont want to bring in money that they cant re-invested and nor will they want to sell players that they cant replace

Personally I'm not sure if sanchez would be a good buy (depends on the system/formation we use next season), but if we have identified him as a player we def want, then we should be moving heaven and earth now to recruit him

According to legroveblog the 19.5 bid is not true as is barca looking for 24m for Sanchez also untrue.
Barca want 30m for him and arsenal will pay that amount.

Now he doesn't say where he got his info so could be bullshit as is most of this thread.

I just find it sickening that he's putting this job with Chanel Frog or whatever it is over the interests of the club he's managed for 18 years and it's supporters. After another summer of sitting on his hands and letting Cesc sign for a rival how any AKB can still defend him I do not know :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
