Handing Wally the armband then pulling Giroud when it should have been Wally will join the many many Wenger poor decision moments. Its cost us so many games its unreal. All boils down to overindulgant loyalties, his loyalty is like everything he just hasnt got the incisive touch any longer, went 10+ years ago.

Incidentally whilst skiing a few weeks ago a mate saw a sign for Wenger over a hotel on the way into Val Thorens- so there must be another Wenger

This might have been a drunken dream, but I could swear when GTA V online first came out there was a building that had the name "Wenger" on it. And the "W" was a pair of legs showing off the arse!

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

My mate didnt mention the legs or arse- funny that. Must have been the altitude.

Also noted while googling trying to find a pic of this place that AW took his team up to Val Thorens for altitude training ,so maybe there is only one after all

"Arsene Sanogo Wenger"

Will that do?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
He cant be allowed to occupy the managers seat if he cant win this league.
His tenure as Arsenal manager shouldnt be unconditional. The former players like Keown, Henry, Dixon, Parlour also need to wise up. They question the team, question the mental strength and certain players within the team, yet on the question of whether Wenger is the right man for the job, its always 'oh absolutely'. I have to ask, which is it? Does the team lack mettle and quality, or is Wenger the best man for the job - it cant be Fing both!!!!
Anyways, I still hold hope and am optimistic we will win it. However if we dont, then I literally cannot comprehend how Wenger earns a new deal.

Remember though mate "captaincy is overplayed" in this country apparently, and "rotational leadership" is where its at. Not my words, or Confucius or Rodders.......our very own TO1AW when he was defending Almunia as captain !!!Theoperator wrote:![]()

I often wonder if TO1AW and Red Member are the same person

Apologies if this has already been posted:

“I don’t think we are on the same level ground as foreign clubs,” Wenger said. “For example, Bayern Munich paid one euro for their ground whereas we paid £128m for ours. In France they pay nothing at all for their stadium, nothing at all for their maintenance. We pay absolutely everything ourselves so we have to generate more revenue. It is true we get more television income, that is down to the audience and success but as well it is down to the pressure of the market to pay for players at a higher price.
“I looked at the comparisons. Our cheapest prices are cheaper than anywhere in London; our most expensive price is a fraction higher than the other clubs in London; our most common ticket price is lower than many places in England. I don’t think we have a massive problem on that front.”
Our amateur economist is at it again... trying to justify the highest ticket prices from here to Timbuctoo for a club who hasn't won the league for almost 12 years

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Don't know if many of you listen to the excellent Tuesday club podcast, but Alan told a story of how he went to the Vieira appreciation dinner or something last week and Wenger wasn't there, wasn't mentioned. Not once.
Vieira went down a little in my estimations after that, obviously we don't know the story, but to not even acknowledge the man that plucked him from AC Milan and developed him as a player, made him captain, stuck by him when his own behaviour wasn't fitting of an Arsenal captain - till he very much became one, I thought was terrible.
Yes respect works both ways, but even if they have had a massive fall out, to not want him there was one thing - but to not even publicly acknowledge him and his influence on his great career? Madness.
I'm sure plenty on here will blame Wenger blah blah - but what you can't say about Wenger is that he isn't a decent and loyal man (far too loyal sometimes obviously!)- Vieira owes Wenger a lot, and as I said - he dropped a little in my estimations when I heard his name wasn't even mentioned - made a mockery of the whole thing really.

He is stating facts, what can he do? I don't agree with the ticket prices or anything, but its not just an Arsenal problem.postmanPat91 wrote:Apologies if this has already been posted:

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Your augment is rather silly. Neither you or I know what the real story of what happened with Wenger/Vieira, but the fact is, they must have had a rather bitter falling out and your not going to be lauding someone you don't like, regardless of what they did for your career, and that isn't even on a footballing level. In all walks of life, if you grow to dislike someone, you don't switch that off because of an appreciation night.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:Don't know if many of you listen to the excellent Tuesday club podcast, but Alan told a story of how he went to the Vieira appreciation dinner or something last week and Wenger wasn't there, wasn't mentioned. Re: THE WENGER THREAD
High ticket prices are one of the few things at the club Wenger doesn't deserve to carry the can for.
So why does he insist on mouthing off about it like everything? Just wise up and give a non-committal answer like Klopp did and stay out of it. Although being the oracle on everything that he is, of course Wenger must share his wisdom and unparalleled economic knowledge.
