Get the sense we are going to do something. Not anything good necessarily. But something.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Kieran Tierney moving back to Celtic in the Summer. Another one who could have made it with the right coaching and hadn’t suffered so many injuries. Never got a lot of games but a real shame it didn’t work out. Loved his down to earth lifestyle and manner. Wish him all the best.

KT is a class act and the best LB at the club.goonertux wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:37 pmKieran Tierney moving back to Celtic in the Summer. I know he has had injuries but I think he has been treated badly. Canola was let go because we couldn't get him fit but when he left he playermd for many years in his career thereafter.

Tend to agree about KT. I’d happily have him in the side.
As for Cazorla, not only did it look like his career was well and truly finished after months and months of Wenger’s medics experimenting on him, but they were talking about an infection that had set in that might see him lose his foot.
The guy had the good sense to get out of Dodge and as you say, got back to playing top level football.

I agree KT is a Class Act and probably the most down to earth player in the Arsenal Squad...Really sorry to see him go, but it was Injuries that took their toll I wish him All The Best!
As for Santi... Yeah! I thought he was the most skilled player since God (Dennis Bergkamp) Loved seeing him play and setup plays for our attack etc..as to "Wenger’s medics experimenting on him"
I think it was called the Josef Mengel approach

Herr Wenger and his club doctor Josef Mengele.
At other clubs, a pulled hamstring or a tweaked groin would see you out for 3-4 weeks. Under Wenger and his medieval physicians, you were never seen again.

Best left back at the club who can’t seem to cope with the rigours of PL football. Sure. His loan move with Sociedad didn’t go too well either so he’s been given every opportunity to succeed and unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for him. Nothing to do with him being treated badly.Thynker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 12:28 amKT is a class act and the best LB at the club.goonertux wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:37 pmKieran Tierney moving back to Celtic in the Summer. There was talk of him being better than Andy Robertson when we signed him and I was hopeful but as it turned out, he’s nowhere near Robertson’s athletic level.
He’s a likeable fella but I recall he mentioned something about how chat with Bellerin gave him belief. All good but Hector wasn’t exactly a role model.

In fact given his injury record, most clubs would’ve offloaded him a long time ago. I think Arteta has been very accommodating actually, especially given he didn’t sign him and spared him from the massive cull 3seasons ago.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Btw I see one of the saudi clubs is interested in Jhon Duran - I am on record as preferring osimhen, but duran would be an acceptable second choice and is def one that the naysayers cannot trot out the "no top striker is available" crap
Re osimhen, the media are saying that napoli's bid for garnacho has stalled - I have said it all along that napoli are NOT cash rich and will probably need to sell to fund any bid for garnacho, so we should be in there taking advantage of their need for funds in the same way clubs will try to take advantage of our need for a striker

Knowing the cünt, he’d pass it back to the fucker who gave it to him in the first place.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 11:18 amNo! Arsenal made a call in the last few weeks to understand the situation of Jhon Durán.

Arsenal are interested in Mathys Tel.
He's been on radar for a while as he fits all the criteria and there was a surprise that such a player would be available.
Any loan deal would need an option to buy.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I see bobby pires telling the club that they need to go out and buy a proper striker if they want to win titles again - Osimhen would be the striker he said he would buy

Vlahovic on loan until the end of the season with Sesko to come in the summer would be my best guess.
Augie Osimhen is going to Suadi, he only cares about all the monies and platinum lambos same as Ivan Toney. That lot don't care about burning their careers playing in a farmers league in front of 20 people as long as they're getting boat loads of cash.

The next Mbappe apparently, although more likely to turn out to be the next Sanogo if we buy himRetro Gunner wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 3:02 pmArsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:03 pmJUST IN from @MiguelDelaney:

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Tel is a good young player, came from Rennes I think. Would be good cover for Saka or more likely, in contention to start on the left wing. Would possibly cost around 30-35m. Kompany hasn't given him much of a look in at Bayern as they also have Coman, Sane and Gnabry fighting for that position. Could be worth a punt at 30m.
I saw a link to Jonathan David at Lille. He's having another good season (not a one season wonder like PeePee was), he's also been very good in the CL this season scoring quite a few. 6 months left on contract, 25yo so would be available for a knock down price?
I think the thing to remember is, Sesko is Arteta's wet dream, if there is any kind of agreement with him to come in the summer, then any signing in this window, I suspect needs to be 'cheap' or a loan signing as they won't be the number 1 striker at the club in summer potentially.
Signing David and Tel now for somewhere around 50-60m total would be good business as long as we go for Sesko in the summer which I think we will.n I'm just not sure Arteta will splurge on two strikers when he thinks Havertz is one already?
