THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

I have since heard that TOF has only admitted to bottling the title twice. So not only is he blind, he cannot count either :banghead:

As for the Sophie's Choice; as TOF will be here forever regardless of results, we might as well win the double. I won't bet on us doing it though :(

Hopefully there will be no turgid sideways shite today...

we win the double this season but Arsene stays for 5 more years

or we finish 4th but ahead of tottingham but win nothing and Arsene stays 2 more years.

:D
It's a no brainer for me; win the double :barscarf:

Yes, I know there's potential consequences in that we'll continue to get knocked out of the CL the first time we draw a big club and yes, we'll no doubt return to fighting for 4th place once Guardiola arrives and United & Chelsea get their shit together, but I'd still go for the double under Wenger and take my chances.
or spurs win the PL and Arsene stays for the next 5 years?

It's all pointless. Football's pointless.

Unless we get 3 points today :barscarf:
I'll be honest i'd take getting rid of him and the uncertainty of being competitive again or not over a double this season.

For me the ramifications of him staying for another 5 years is too horrible to contemplate (although i do know that's where we're headed but this is hypothetical anyway), especially with the new managers coming into the other top teams, Klopp potentially putting his own squad together at the Victims and us having potentially the same team next year in a much more competitive league because Wenger will feel vindicated.

Sorry guys but in my opinion and i know many will disagree but for me it's about putting the future of the club ahead of silverware :rubchin:

(As another bonus at least we see different threads on here such as 'would Wenger have us playing the same way' and 'Where would be under Wenger at the moment' oh and it would stop certain poster having an aneurysm each week)

For the pure and simple reasons:

Guardiola will take Man city to the treble maybe even the quadruple, chavs will improve next season as will the victims under Klopp and (I dread this bit) pochitino will continue the building work he has done with the sum who may finsih above us BUtNOT win the title - so gimme the DOUBLE! :high5:

Anyone hear Garde last night on MOTD? I was washing up ( ) and was convinced it was an old tape of AW- waffling on about not enough mental spirit, turned round to see it was dear Remi. Anyone surprised to see the only AW protegee manager wise of note failing so badly (granted there are other factors at Villa too)

Even when our main rivals are Tottenham and Leicester City, we wont win it. Even in a season when the bar comes down really low, he cant clear it.

He literally is a loser incapable of winning.

Where was the "momentum" that Wenger was blathering on about?

It was barely a reserve Man Utd side and there was no sense of urgency and barely a chance created. Only 4 points ahead of Man City and they've a game in hand.

who's gives a shite. We finish top 4 get in to the CL. Then are humilated by Bayern or Barca, no chance of ever winning it. We make a few quid that the club don't even spend.

Ground hog all over again. I think we need a right good shit season for the club to wake up and make changes

I know he is prone to giving players the silent treatment, and rather than rally the players before a big match, likes to keep them 'calm'. So there is something about his management that is failing spectacular. If all these players went to other clubs, they would be part of a title winning team, as we saw with Clichy, Nasri, RVP, Cesc, Song - they can go and win la liga and the premiership elsewhere, but whilst they were together, failed every year.

For me, the problem is Wenger, pure and simple. He is just turning into a useless manager.
