A fcuking great result......well it is great when you consider that we had no defense, nobody in the middle of the park and fcuking nobody up front  People are rightly basking the defenders but why are no questions being asked of those that played in front of them ? :o I love cesc to bits as a player but he was so sloppy with the ball tonight it was unreal and I didnt see his usual fire in the belly performance either. Song did ok most of the time when in possession but himself and denilson were anonymous in midfield as the scousers played around us - christ we made benyoun look like fcuking pele (and I am talking about pele the footballer and not the man who is having erection problems  ). As for bedtner what can you say ? Woeful touch, fcuk all effort and you could really be forgiven for thinking it was the greedy *word censored* that was playing except for the fact that bedtner actually won some headers (and of course they are different skin colours).

What can you say about arshavin ? The man is a god and will become a legend with us if he is given a decent team around him. However what I will again say is that the guy is at his best playing in the Bergkamp role where he is constantly involved in the game and is nearer to the goal to maximise his shooting ability. Quite why wenger see's cesc as a better option in that position is beyond me cos (a) he doesnt have the right skills necessary to play the position and (b) cesc needs to be deeper and dictating the game.

Anyway considering we were well outplayed I suppose we should be happy with a draw but when you score 4 times and take the lead in the 89th minute then to not win the game is a disgrace. Quite what we can do to patch up the defence before next weeks champs lge game is anybodys guess but we wouldnt beat a conference side defending like that and pointing out the absent players does not excuse the lack of basic defending that even a pub footballer knows  Personally I would leave kolo out against boro cos as bad as he played tonight, he is still way way better than silvestre and we cannot afford to go up to mancland with him ruled out through injury as well. Anyone know when djouru is back ?

Draw at Anfield is a good result considering the team we put out, actually its a fucking fantastic result having scored 4 goals there without our 2 first choice front men.

Defence was shocking, Gibbs played as well as he could, he needed more help down that side tbh but I can't criticise Arshavin tonight can I! Sagna was a liability, Silvestre/Toure were alright but Kolo seemed to get in a lot of peoples ways, just don't go together. Song played well.

All in all a great game to watch (I thought we were going to loose) would have been nice to have won it obviously, but where the fuck they got 5 minutes from is still beyond me

btw, I was baffled as to why Wenger left arshavin on the bench on saturday, but I think it was to try and throw Hiddink off a bit, considering it was so assumed he would start and Hiddink knows him so well. Dunno if thats been posted anywhere else, but I've been away and theres about 8 different threads that seem to keep banging on about this issue.

Just got back from the game, well what can you say..... a mixed bag indeed.

Fabianski had a good first half, a couple of stunning saves and one at the start of the second half. I couldn't tell from our end if he was at fault with any of the last three???

Gibbs gets better with each game.. Silvestre looks finished, Toure started off terribly and improved as the game went on. Sagna, a mixed performance.

Denilson, woeful, gave the ball away cheaply and was baled out by Song who was immense, which makes the Wenger decision to drop him on Saturday look very foolhardby indeed. Cesc wasn't himself but was still an improvement on Denilson.

Bendtner cut a forlorn figure up front on his own but wasn't help by his heavy first touch.

Walcott who came on for Denilson transformed us in an attacking way and we improved vastly with him on the pitch.

Last word for Arshavin, what a class player he is, gets stuck in, great first touch and knows where the net is..... superb, turning into a GOD like player. Is it gay of me to say I love him? I don't care I DO......

Going to bed got to go to work soon.......

Will read other comments later on in the morning.....

Good night......

You're a f**king joke with comments like that. 4 goals at Liverpool, spirited performance after the defeat on Saturday. A left back with a total of 4 premiership starts and a make shift goalkeeper and centre back.

Give some credit you dick.
Hanny73 you're a fucking moron & a dirty slimmy *word censored*. How dare you call me a dick because I'm disgusted by the state of our defence? Shipping in 4 goals is inexcusable, let alone, failing to defend a lead 3 fucking times. I don't care what you assume I thought before the match, we were in a position to win it, we should have won it & we didn't. So you expect me to fold my hands & smile? You're fucking joking! The spirited performance you talk about, came from Arshavin & the other forwards, the defence were absolute pants. They're the ones I'm mad at for costing us a win.

I think my ears have stopped bleeding now, what a game. Good point considering who we have out at the back, Silvestre was utter pony, Gibbs showed his inexperience at times but overall played well, Song was awesome (didn't even play a shit ball until the 75th min), and Arshavin was a horse, in a field, surrounded by guinea pigs.

Image

I have a theory about why Arshavin didn't play in the semi.

Chavski: Bent Russian owner and Manager of Russian national team
Arshavin: Russia's best player

I'm thinking of a scenario involving never playing for Russia again, AK47's and pet kittens

Great game last night and a good atmosphere, for the most part.

Bit strange the way you kept singing "wheres your famous atmosphere" and "shall we sing a song for you" etc when it was a good atmosphere but never mind. I guess you just sing that to everyone these days.

Make sure you beat the Mancs :D

Spot on in general Augie, but particularly with the above part. 8) I was thinking the same thing and was about to start a thread on it until I saw your post. When you think of all the players that we could play in that position and are probably better suited to it - Arshaven, Nasri, Theo and RVP (when fit) - playing Cesc there does seem a curious decision. :?
