Our preseason isn't as bad as Liverpool's has been but that tells us nothing about them or us. If we lose 2-0 to Everton and play rubbish, then I'll start being more concerned
But if we werent targetting a DM (as most of us feel is the case) and wenger then should go why wait until he wastes another fcuking season bullshitting about the potential of players like diaby, song etc and the great spirit we have in the squad ? For me if he doesnt make the necessary additions in quality to the squad then come sept 1st either wenger or the board should go without delay
Unfair on the new manager who suddenly has to come into a squad part way through the season that he can't change, no time to implement new idea's without risking Arsenal falling too far behind, better to keep Wenger to see us through the season then (assuming he doesn't then promptly see us win a cup and challenge for league title) then give new manager whole of summer to shape the side

Wenger has 2 years to run on his contract, and I doubt he'd walk away before that... and the board certainly won't sack him, that's for sure!

I know... terrible
This is what Arseblogger had to say on the matter...
How's your head this morning? Is it pounding, painful, pitiful and pthrobbing? I hope so for then you are like me and I do not suffer alone. It seems we lost a game last night.
I was considering turning the site entirely black to signify the correct amount of mourning but then, you know, I remembered it was just a pre-season friendly being used to tone the fitness and sharpness of the players ahead of next Saturday's league opener against Everton
Very clever but missing the target by miles!! It's not the fact that we have lost a pre-season friendly that is worrying/pissing off some of the fans. It's that the same weakness that have been apparent for over 18 months are still there yet the manger doesn't seem to want to do anything about or just can't see them!!
Exactly IHH and the tactical situation shows no sign of improving either I could take defeats in any or all our pre-season games but when it is continually highlighting the same shortcomings that have existed for 2 years now then you have to ask yourself how and why some fans think that it is still ok to trivialise them
Tbh i take little notice of any of the friendlies, i know what our weaknesses are and i know what we need, whether we won our friendlies 10-0 or lost them 10-0 that wasn't going to change my opinion.
Two or three new quality players through the spine of the team or we will have all the same problems as we did last year, it's that simple.
Even so i feel groundhog season has already begun.

I don't think Arseblog was missing the target by miles... you only need to read threads from before and after the Valencia game to see a stark difference in tone.
Should a pre-season friendly which we were drawing 0-0 until we made many changes be met with such an explosion of emotion and anger? - I don't think so!
This isn't about whether people are rosetinters or realists, or whether they think we'll succeed or fail... it's about common sense and perspective.
I mentioned this in a previous post (and I hate to pick on **** ) but it was comments like his that Arseblog was probably referring too...

i fear for us this season.
Loads of us went completely over the top re-Emirates cup win.
I think we will get fecking walloped at Goodison next week.
What I was confused by, in ****'s post, was that someone , in the space of 1 week, and 1 pre-season friendly, would change their opinion so dramatically! - it's the very definition of knee-jerk.... knee-jerk optimism based on the Emirates Cup, and knee-jerk pessimism based on the result last night.
Im not worried about us losing 2-0, its the fact that we created very little, could hardly put two passes together. The result doesnt matter its the performance.
To me we look exactly the same as we did last year, no killer instinct in the final third. No strength in the middle of the park. And still no height at the back.
I am no starting to see what greedy gave us upfront, he had the height, strength and pace. I actually think wenger managed him wrong. He needed someone to tell him he wasnt pulling his weight and to start working. A manger to shout at him during a game and give him a bollicking. Wenger isnt that type of manager, under a fergy or jose ade wouldnt of been allowed to let his standards drop.
Eduardo, van persie, bendtner and arshavin showed very little yesterday. I think mainly due to the formation. None of these players can play the 433 (451) that wenger wants to play. All 4 need to play with two up top.
Eduardo needs to play on the last shoulder with preferably a big guy he can play off of. Eduardo had his best games for us when playing with bendtner. He has a killer instict of scoring goals, but does little else.
Van persie drops two deep to play upfront alone, he needs a player to stay up top and allow van persie to drop deep or pull out wide. We have never really seen the best of van persie. He has never formed any great partnership with any striker at the club.
Bendtner is definatly not a winger, in a 433 or a 442. He is standard center forward. His link up play is good, not great. He needs to improve his finishing and first touch.
Arsahvin is probably our most talented striker who is wasted on the left. He oftern drifts in and out of games. To get the best out of him he must play the bergkamp kind of role in a 442 with players making runs infront of him to give him time and space. However he cannot play in a 442 with van persie and himself upfront.
I cant really see a strike partnership with our four strikers. This is why i think wenger is trying this 433 to acommodate van persie and arshavin in the same team and keeping cesc in the middle. For me wenger must sign and out and out winger and then decide between arshavin and van persie to partner either bendtner or eduardo.
I agree that you might be confused after what Mrgnu wrote but I hardly think his views should be held up as representative of the majority (or even a small minority) of Arsenal fans!! After all, he was mad enough to think that we could win the title after the Emirates Cup triumph!! What kind of reasoned mind - except for perhaps Wenger's and the Board's - would or could possibily think that? Anyway, you should know by know that anything Mrgnu writes - much like what Wenger says - should be taken with a huge pinch of salt!!
And again, the 'explosion of emotion and anger' is because we can see exactly the same sort of fate befalling us as we suffered last season, and all because - despite his words - the manager has done feck all to redress our weaknesses!! Why is alright - or 'common sense and perspective' if you like - for Wenger to think we can win the title with no additional new players, yet unreasonable for us fans to get heated up about what we see as behaviour bordering on negligence?
I am no starting to see what greedy gave us upfront, he had the height, strength and pace
but Ade killed puppies, was the only Arsenal player to ever think of moving clubs, the 4-1 defeat to Man U was down to him, that 40 yard freekicks, that Gibbs slip, all his fault. Swine Flu his fault yet?
