The US Martin BORED Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

The Lurkers here must wholeheartedly agree with this.

Seriously, can't you FEEL THE FUTILITY OF POSTING ARGUMENTS ON AN ANONYMITY BASED FORUM ?

Then again, you idiots think Augie is clever....

Come on Martin, mate - that's enough.

Olgit's a *word censored* - we get it. If it's really offended you, then pm him and sort it out privately. Do what you need to do via pm's then put it behind you.

This feuding nonesense has gone on way too long already. No one cares who's at fault, so I'm not blaming you BUT For the good of the forum, sort it in private. PLEASE!

One last thing if none of this is real or whatever why is everyone so damn mad at me I mean is cyberspace more real when I post or something. I just don't get that. If I'm overreacting isn't everyone else over-reacting if it's just a forum?
Evening USMartin.

I think the circumstances of the SG Forum are unique, as it is only one thread, no different subjects or topics, so the only 'problem' I could see was you ( and others - from Oz ) were posting in the evening/night time. This meant that people from UK/Eire would get up in the morning and have to scroll through the 'Board debates' before they could start posting in 'real time' again.

Not really a huge problem, but it seemed some thought so.

You certainly didn't break any rules and were polite and courteous, and I thought it was unfortunate - and a bit silly - what happened on there.

Your last paragraph is spot-on though, in my opinion. This forum ( and all others ) are not 'real', and this 'USM argument' I find a bit silly. Just don't read it if you're not interested. I caught some of the '****' thing, and again thought a banning was a bit harsh, but could understand it in a way because of the abuse, which I find is a bit silly on the internet, but your views on the Board are a valid point, and the Board's actions have certainly affected the way and the direction The Arsenal are moving.

Anyway, I certainly didn't expect a Spanish Inquisition (although with hindsight that was probably the obvious thing to expect! ).

Martin - I'm not condoning anything. It's just that things are going from bad to worse on this thread. I'm also not backing any particular side. It all just seems stupid, and there is not a chance in hell that there will be a truce.

I can see two outcomes (not that I agree with them):

1) You take a break from the forum.
2) The Site Admin ban you for being a disruptive influence.

As I say, I'm not agreeing with anything, but I can't see any other choice. You have simply fallen out with too many people (rightly or wrongly). They will simply take you out of the equation, as it is the simplest solution.

Agree with frankbutcher above, that's why I thought I'd post and tell you just to chill a bit, Martin.

Not wishing to pick sides, it's just I think the outcome to this is fairly obvious, and would be a shame.

And again it's the Board that are responsible for this. I think they're following you, and then joining the forums or pressurising existing forum members to give you a hard time with the express intent of banning you and all the people who dare to question or critizise them!

8)

Just because you're paranoid don't mean they're not after you!

See here's what I don't get you and g88ner seem willing to call me out out here for my conduct but really reluctant to address anyone else's which just put yourself in my place and tell me how you'd feel then.

The reality is my views may have inspired their behavior but they are the disruptive influence. Frank - you opened this thread with the best intentions but look at the number of people who chose on their own to enter it to basically harass any and everyone who entered this thread for legitimate reasons. I am not the disruptive influence in fact - these individuals are, and it's the reluctance to call them out that encourages their behavior..

Your philosophy as this latest post auggests will only result in compromising or cooperating me off this forum, and only rewards others asinine behavior. And if none of it's real or why are we arguing about any of it?

I will take my share of the blame for whatever - I just won't take everyone else's and it seems you would prefer I do that.

Martin - I'm certainly not pinning all of the blame on you. I just know how life works. The majority normally come out on top. The thing that has happened here is that as you took issue with some light-hearted banter months ago, it has simply snow-balled out of control. I can see for myself that there are a good few people who have been out of order to you. I really do. It's just that you're fighting a losing battle and whether you are right or wrong, you're not going to win it (just being truthful :( ).

I'm not calling you out, anything but. I'm just giving words of advice. As I only log on in the evenings, I can perhaps see the perspective a tad clearer than you. You're caught up in the heat of the 'battle' and perhaps you want apologies from people. I think we all know that's not going to happen.

The debate between you and your aggressors is simply going around in circles, and all that is happening is that more people are witnessing it in public, seeing you as the common denominator and drawing the conclusion that you're the problem (rightly or wrongly).

That's why I think you need a bit of time out of the limelight.
