So again apologies augie, i guess i just don't want to hear how bad we are at the moment although i am well aware of it.

The other lads got there before me mate.......I didnt consider it an outburst at all and considering some of the previous differences of opinion we have had I would consider it quite jovial   Anyway dont worry about it mate and concentrate on training for the mackems fans game next feb/march

Cheers mate, gotta say I am looking forward to regaining some much dented pride after the last game (narrow loss if my memory serves me well :? ) and am playing sundays again this season so should be a tad fitter.

My manager says that I am showing real spirit, determination and a strong mental attitude this season so I take that to mean I am brilliant

And who would Vieira be squaring up with in today's UTD Midfield ? Carrick ? Fletcher ? Anderson ?

I think last night was a new record for early leavers ; I reckon there were 20,000 people left in the ground when the final whistle went.

With this and the snood issue, people always point to Vieira, Adams and Keown as the norm but they were exceptionally hard men. The likes of Wrighty and Ljungberg was as tarty as today's players. Both of them posed in their kecks at various points ( 8) ) and dyed their hair silly colours. Seaman and his ponytail, anyone?

Now i'll moan as much as the rest of them about the atmosphere but there's a few people her being needlessly harsh on a crowd that bothered to turn up in freezing cold weather. I had empty seats all around me, a full on throat infection and was watching piss poor football - I wasn't about to start a round of 'by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen'. Highlight for me was sneaking in a whisky miniature!

On the game itself, I think we lacked a Cesc or Wilshere player to hold the ball, look up and see the pass through their solid line of 9 defenders. It was just get the ball, head down and run into trouble. That we're top of the league is a miracle - this is by far the worst team i've seen in years. That said, reckon we'd raise our game for Barca or Madrid.

Those three earned the right to wear/sport whatever - if they wanted to play naked that'd be fine by me. And in Freddie's case, fine by my missus too.

Mate your wrong about some of that.....

Wrighty loved his picture taken but he was no tart and on the pitch he loved a battle. Verbal and physical abuse he was well up for it. In the team these days we would have a captain and a player who will not be bullied but do the bullying.

Remember David Howells anyone??

Just found this on asite also

NOVEMBER, 1991: fined [pounds sterling]1,500 for spitting at, and making obscene gestures to, Oldham fans.
DECEMBER, 1992: served a three-match suspension after a TV replay spotted him punching Tottenham's David Howells.
JULY 1993: An obscene gesture at linesman Brian Wigginton during the FA Cup Final two months before cost Wright a further [pounds sterling]5,000.
OCTOBER, 1993: forced to apologise to linesman Richard Saunders, a thalidomide victim, after comments made in a game against Norwich.
SEPTEMBER, 1994: fined [pounds sterling]1,000 for calling referee Robbie Hart `a muppet'. He is forced to pay out a further [pounds sterling]750 as punishment for spitting at a female QPR steward.
JANUARY, 1995: Millwall chairman Reg Burr reports Wright to Arsenal for branding Millwall fans as racist.
DECEMBER, 1995: apologises to the FA after calling referees `incompetent little Hitlers'.
JANUARY, 1996: accused by Sheffield United's Roger Nilsen of spitting in his face.
MARCH, 1996: Threatens to leave Arsenal after falling out with former Gunners boss Bruce Rioch. His adoring fans convince him to stay.
AUGUST, 1996: receives yet more criticism, this time from the chief executive of the League Managers' Association, John Barnwell, for his comments made about sacked Gunners boss Bruce Rioch.
OCTOBER, 1996: charged by the FA for misconduct after calling Sheffield Wednesday manager David Pleat, `a pervert'.

Yeh I can imagine Vela, Theo , Song, Denilson being compared to this kind of stuff.

Any chance Chunky can swing it to only last for one half? We're usually dynamite in the first half. 8)

Chunky said that he thinks it will be on the cards again but he will miss the game himself this time which is not good news as he is the only decent defender we had
Thanks Augie...  :finger:

To be fair frank ye didnt get much protection from the defensive midfielder that was meant to be sitting in front of ye blocking their attacks.......percy would be good at blocking out the sun alright but not so good at blocking out opposition attacks
  (I thought there was an eclipse that day mate)

Anyway, that's right Augie... I think that was supposed to be Left Foot Legend's job.... Hmmm... gone round in a full circle here...
Hang on there fellas, wasn't I the attacking midfielder  Anyhow I learnt all my defensive midfielders positioning skills off the master that is song :?

Yeah and he's on his last legs no ? Once he's gone (this year) who will they have ? The game has moved on a bit as has the style of a lot of the players...no point harking back to what Keane/Vieira would've made of it as those days are gone.
