Board Sells - Kroenke Takes Control Of Club!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It stopped being about football years ago lads. It's all about the money now, backed up by bucket loads of PR spin and bullshit!!

Good...although he could be just holding out for a bigger offer for his shares..

Tbh he should be unhappy about how the whole thing has gone...i think some at the club who had a vested interest in keeping their jobs and keeping everything as they prefer it, have plotted and planned to keep him from owning the club from the off...

What would make me laugh is if Kroenke after securing the chunk of shares he has, then sold the lot to Usmanov to turn around an immediate profit, to leave Uzi as sole owner with all those who have plotted to keep him from owning the club at his mercy..

Is Kronky (as he's known on SSN) making an offer to buy the whole club now?
history in the making- our first foreign owner :? . The future looks scary......

A war between Kronke and Usmanov will not benefit the club so i hope it is sorted out ASAP

The win yesterday has increased my confidence that we won't finish 5th, hence I feel I can post again.

I would think that it is normal in any friendly takeover to make commitments to the existing Board and Management regarding their positions. The alternative would mean an aggressive takeover which would have meant that he would have had to pay a damn sight more for the club and may not have succeeded in gaining control.

But it would also be normal for that status quo to crumble once the new owner gets his feet under the desk. I find it hard to believe that Stan would spend all that money (whether his or borrowed) and leave everything exactly as is.....
I am not really sure to whom will benifit from this really, the team/fans will certainly not be that high up the list of matters? How I hope this is not the case,,, :x

For a simple lad like my self what happens if usmanov doesnt sell his shares to stan do things remain the same as they are now or can usmanov be forced to sell his shares.Like is there stock exchange rules that could force him to sell. For example you know how there is Compulsory Purchase Order if a local council or a government need to build a road or something through someones property and can force them to sell is there something similiar when it comes to companies.

The Stan v Uzi drama could run and run and difficult to see how that is anything but bad for our club..... No wonder Stan was so accomodating to the current board. Any other approach might have seen them sell out to the rotund Russian....

I think he can only be forced to sell if Stan owned more than 90% - which he can't do as this would involve buying some of Uzi's holding. At the moment, Stan's can only offer to buy.

I've got this vague recollection though of something coming up when studying Company Law about protection through the courts where a minority shareholder was being unfairly treated by a controlling party and the other way around. Hopefully though they can resolve any differences without taking this through the courts.....
