Arsenal Artillery 1886

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can't remember who came up with it a few pages back, but I like "The Arsenal Loyal"

Will that not come across as derogatory to those not involved in creating a better atmosphere or could it actually encourage everyone to turn their heads (and voices) towards it?

All the names suggested so far sound like groups Baden Powell formed!

Where do we sign up? In the Armoury?

The Rocket will also be open for sign-ups on Match Days. Please PM Flash Gunner for details. 8)
If the idea is so shite, We could always make a banner 8)

On a serious note, you just highlighted what kingjayson mentioned earlier; when he tried to sing, people were saying its shit... but without offering any alternatives.

The situation is frustrating, but something has to be done.
For me, the answer is simple.

1) The Club need to relax the over-zealous stewarding.
2) A singing section in the Clock End. The away fans will be motivation enough to get going. We will also see a return of the ding-dong "We're the Clock End, we're the North Bank".

8)
Stewards on North Bank Lower are not that bad, but the atmosphere is still not as good as it can be.
Agree, but they maybe issues with having to move other ST.
Hence we need to know where they are clusters of singers and get them together in their blocks, if need to.
An example, on Block 7, they is a group near the front, nearer the back, and the other on the far left nearer to block 8.
When these group start together, the whole block comes alive.
If they started in unison with each other all the time, then atmosphere might improve.

Also the main problem is the older guys can't be bothered or dont want to look stupid if they start on their own.
The younger guys are willing to start, but they dont know that many chants, meaning they resort to the "stand up if you hate Tottenham..."
Which further frustrates the older generation, etc.

Im just throwing ideas here which I accept could be shite..

No Dan, you're right we don't.

It's already fucking pathetic listen to Burrell screaming out

"NUMBER 4...............PERRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

followed by a handful of mumbled "Mertesacker" responses that nobody can make out

Too right I don't want some prick telling me what to sing and when. Atmosphere is created by the mood and the fans at the time. I don't remember needing some knobhead getting proceedings going when there were 56000 packed into the old Highbury and people sitting on the North Bank roof.
