Re: Thierry Henry Appreciation Thread
A good piece on TH14 in The Telegraph:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... dream.html
I just hope he doesn't allow Wenger to influence him too much and that he also seeks guidance from Pep and (passed) fellow players like Bergkamp and PV4.

Good postTheoperator wrote:Wrighty for me too, I did feel that TH14 was never quite at his absolute best on the massive matches- cup finals, both club and country. Sure I will be shot down, but just felt a bit deflated that on the top stage it just didnt quite happen. Could have been chance more than bottle of course...
Comparing Wrighty to Th14 is like comparing Marilyn Monroe to Sophia Lauren, both brilliant, and Id have em both in an instant. Feel that Wrighty had more passion, and understands The Arsenal more than TH will ever do, but of course TH14 had the speed and devastation/ threat thats unmatchable since (And according to my misses the sex appeal too![]()
.)
Just cant see TH14 being a good manager, sorry but tis rare for out and out strikers to turn into good managers, Im sure they are around but off the top of my head Im struggling to think of a world class striker (number 9 equivalent) that turned into a manager![]()

That's what happens when you've been brainwashed by Sky and only search for Premier League Golden Boot winners forgetting that there actually was an English First Division beforehand.DB10GOONER wrote:

Are you sure?

I was labouring under the misapprehension that football was invented in '92 and that Arsenal was founded in '96

That is quite understandable - The Arsenal PR machine have been putting out runours that the name Arsenal is a derivation of Arsene...the Sheeeple AKB's actually believe it, hence the gold framed images of him in greater Asia - where the history of despots is still very fresh in their memories and their adoration of what has in truth become a sad case of absolute power corrupting what once was a good and beautiful thing.
THERE'S ONLY ONE DESPOT
ONLY ONE DESPOT!!!!

Ian Wright always has been and always will be my favourite player. Absolute legend.DB10GOONER wrote:Absolute bollocks.VAVAVOOM 14 wrote:Don't agree there, maybe early on when Henry's striker's nous wasn't fully developed, but after he mastered his craft he was as clinical as they come - no one could pass the ball in the net like him.I Hate Hleb wrote: Not when it came to putting the ball into the net, he wasn't!! Henry may have been a better all round player but Wrighty was without doubt more clinical when it came to taking chances.
Thierry has 4 Golden Boots for a reason, Wright has zilch.Wrighty won the Golden Boot in his debut season with us, and probably the most famous Golden Boot win in our history - on the final day of the season he scored a hat-trick to snatch it from the jug eared cúnt at the scum. Having watched both players over their careers there is no doubt in my mind that whilst Henry was the better all round footballer, Wrighty was the more clinical striker. And Wrighty did most of it surrounded by average to shit players for a lot of his time with us, whereas Henry had some of the best players in the world around him.
Henry was just a phenomenal player, it's a crude comparison with Wright but he was on a completely different level. But I agree that Wright was a more clinical finisher.
Re: Thierry Henry Appreciation Thread
Possibly ,unfortunately he will more likely do more media work and be less inclined to do the TV and less inclined to manage .
I still feel that Bergkamp is a better option due to him already having done all badges whilst a player I think and now involved at Ajax as assistant manager .
The Problem is Bergkamp will probably NOT come to us while Wenger is still around after they fell out big time, but time may have healed that wound !

Looking forward to the day when the Iceman returns to take over our club, even if he has to take 2nd place to Ronald de Boer because of his lack of flying

You have to give a bit of leeway to some of our supporters, mate.DB10GOONER wrote:On behalf of Mr Wright's legal team, I graciously accept your apology.VAVAVOOM 14 wrote:Oh shit, my bad. Re: Thierry Henry Appreciation Thread
Bergkamp was not getting much game time and was getting played allover the pitch but that was just a gripe,he sat down with Wenger and agreed another 2 year contract but not long after Arsenal were touting him around as for sale and had supposedly agreed a 2 million transfer to Fulham which was scuppered when Dennis in no uncertain terms told Wenger he wasn't going anywhere . Wenger told everyone he told Fulham he wasn't for sale but sources in Fulham said the deal was done subject to the player agreeing terms which they felt wouldn't be be an issue as Arsenal had told them what he was getting. Wenger even approached Dennis who turned it down flat . Dennis hardly spoke a word to Wenger for some time but I have no clue if they patched things up.

They sat down, agreed and deal and there was claret everywhere.
You've got to write a book, mate. Fiction or non-fiction, I'd buy it!
