As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Wenger has also arguably ruined Walcott's career by persisting with playing him on the wing. The lad looked a promising young striker at Southampton.
Eboue was also becoming a really decent right back before Le Frog struck again and decided he would be better off on the right wing. Eboue was never the same player from that point on.
Who's next to be ruined by 'the professor'? My money's on the Ox. He will be moved to defensive midfield to cover Alex Song's arse.

In his time in germany he has played in what has been largely a two horse race every season and as a result he will get far far more chances than most strikers thus contributing to his domestic goals haul.
Now why dont you also analysise the very internationals stats you quoted - would it surprise you to know that of his 23 goals for his country, 13 of them were in friendlies ? Would it surprise you to discover that last nights goal was his first at a major championship finals ? Finally I should point out to you that only 2 of his goals were against teams in the top 20 of fifa's world rankings and one of those was in a friendly ? Some people seem to rely entirely on stats instead of judging what they can see with their own eye's

He looked way off the pace and podolski and ozil kept playing him in only for him to miss the ball due to being too slow or behind play, was a good header though
Was a great header absolutely but that doesnt make him a great player and for me he is just another andy carroll and I would actually credit the geordie with having more mobility
augie, I respect your opinion on wenger and Arsenal but my you talk some shit....
You slag off stats then you use other stats to set up your point , conveniently forgetting he won Stuttgart the league in 2007, blowing your "two horse race" theory to shit. He scored a lot of goals in "only friendlies", what about his 13 (THIR-FUCKING-TEEN) goals in 14 appearances in this seasons champions league.
Not to be rude or patronising towards you as I'm sure you're usually quite knowledgeable when it comes to football but its astonishing how many know nothing fans give stick to your Gomezs and Inzaghi's, (even your Andy Cole's) for being strikers who play off the last defender and base their game on launching late runs behind the defence because they don't spend much time on the ball. Germany's heavily packed midfield with Pod and Muller out wide is designed for a player like Gomez , he stars in similar form for Bayern because of Ribery & Robben. It's the player coaches want him to be. Andy Carroll? please

Could you see Carroll scoring nearly 50 goals in one season for Bayern Munich? Exactly.

Henry the only reason I used stats was to blow holes in the stats that you were using - I dislike the use of stats cos sometimes they can be very misleading.
Secondly I was a big fan of inzaghi and there was a world of difference between him and gomez - the italian was in no way a link up striker but you can be damn sure that when the ball landed anywhere around the 6 yd box pippo was be there to bury the chance but the german has not got that predator instinct or if he has he is just too immobile to get where he needs to be. Gomez doesnt play off the last man and doesnt make those launching late runs cos, to put it simply, he is not able to. I am all too aware that gomez's goals records blows andy carroll's out of the water but then again there is a fair few years difference in experience between the two but I just mentioned him cos I feel that both are just lumbering target men (I was actually going to compare him to niall quinn but felt like I might be taking the piss too much there )
We can only dream of playing this kind of football with our footballistically exceptional mental strength squad including Walcott, Ramsey, Gervinho and Song.
It's early days I know but the italians could be a dark horse and I have said that for a while - they are a funny breed and very much inclined to pull together when in adversity so the match fixing scandal might bond them The only thing I will say is that their subs bench is piss poor - the lack of options up front is frightening and lets face it ballotelli is not somebody that you want to plan your tactics around.
