Had a man wide open and free in the middle but instead of passing it to him...doesn't even see the pass and thinks he's Pele! Goes for the spectacular! Quality stuff there!
Arsene kicking water bottles again!
Yeah you're being sarcastic mate, but in my opinion it was a good effort from giroud, jamie redknapp and everyone seems to be saying he should have squared it but it clearly would have been blocked by shwacross or whoever that stoke player was besides him if he did attempt squaring it i reckon.. cazorla in the first half although he had a good game overall and one decent shot had 3 or 4 absolute shite efforts on goal which just ended up with a sarcastic applause from the stoke fans, he wasnt even under pressure! like i said i think he is a good player but them scuffs annoyed me more the girouds shot from out wide personally.

What the fuck? We have a striker that likes to shoot, we should be happy.

He passes it to Ramsey and he will make a mess of it anyway, he's clearly got a selfish streak which is good after watching Chamakh look to pass it to anyone and everyone if it means he don't have to take a shot.

Like I said, fine lines, he's been unlucky in one game and 25 mins, he gets a bit of luck and he will have a good season.

So a striker who couldn't hit a barn door from 2 yards out at home to Sunderland, was justified in shooting from 45 yards out, when even top class players like Villa and RVP would find it hate to score from that angle, and though he had a man free running in the middle?

Ok

Steve Bould has obviously been working with the back four, that is a positive.
Giroud,Gervinio,Walcott,utter shite!!!
To win games you have to score at least one more than the other lot,and for us,that is not going to happen given most of the dross that we have playing in attacking positions.

Ok

How many chances did van Persie miss last year? Plenty but he was there to miss them (he also didn't score for the first 3 games, was you bitching about him too?)

You need to get real a bit, this ain't FIFA, strikers miss chances and he was justified for taking it on because it almsot went in, had it gone to the corner flag he wouldn't have been.

Abu Dhabi looked decent in the context of what song was doing. Decent positional sense in DM point of view. He should be at least as good as song in b2b role.

Chamack would have turned around and passed it back to Gibbs!

I thought our defence _ Not the first choice of players - did well...As much as I would dearly love Jenkinson to become another Kos type - I don't think he has it in is locker - so will always be a Back-Up...who will never be a regular...same with Gibbs - has skill etc - but is too light weight.

Diaby made too many mistakes today...Yes, he has been out for ages and needs time  to get going again, BUT from what I remember he was like this when he was fit and playing regularly (if he ever did)

Gervinho - has great pace and he can beat players BUT he has no intelligence when it comes to thinking on the spot and being able to make the right decision football wise...The same can be said of Walcott - But at least Walcott has his excellent moments, and can score - which is why AW should play him through the centre along side Giroud...But I don't see Gervinho changing or improving...he is simply not good enough.

I think Both Podolski and Giroud WILL improve greatly - They do need time both as individuals coming to terms with the Prem and as players in a new team - the team will Gell and be more fluid and solid. Even so we need a "Striker" - someone who can score at will - there's a reason rv *word censored* cost £24mill - he is a natural goal scorer and that is what we need...They don't go for less that £18 - £20 mill these days....unless you're a Defoe/Dempsey type..... :rubchin:

Carzola is clearly World Class, and given the right players in front of him can create things out of nothing but needs better players around him....and definitely needs a Holding Mid-fielder beside/just behind him

So, we still need

A Holding/defensive Mid-fielder
A Striker
A Left Back
A Goalie (to push Shez hard and keep him on his toes)

We need to get shot of:

bendybollox, santos, park, camel, arshavin, squilacci, flappy- surely there's someone out there who'll take them off our hands....just get them off the wage bill and put the money to better use.

Put ramsey out on loan - give him one more season to return to his former (confident) self...and if not sell him.

I think we will be better defensively this season - mind you we've been so bad previously that's hardly saying anything....but we need a Striker to give us the pre-requisite 25+ goals.....to lead the way.

On a positive note I think TV5 will make an excellent Captain.
