I see your point my friend, but am afraid that Wenger's 'eye for talent' disappeared a long, long time ago.
I am not talking about the players so much that Wenger signs as flops - it is more the quality of players that he allowed to let the club miss out on.
like Mata for 25 million quid, who scored one goal less than Walcott last year, yes ?
And the reason we didn't sign Benzema for 30million quid in 2009 was that we had RvP who cost us 3...
Aaah yes the stat department
So what's your point? That Theo is better than Mata? Nope.
What else then? Anyone can pull imbecile stats like that. For instance, Cazorla scored less league goals last season than Michu of Swansea. Again what's your bloody point?
Mata is far, far superior to Walcott.
When it looked like Mata was signing for us, it was all how good he is.
Now he's being compared unfavourably to Walcott
It's so idiotic it doesn't merit a response.
You claim we didn't need Benzena since we had RVP. Again, indicative of the narrow small mindedness that pervades so many: of course two obvious points would be to ask whether both couldn't have played together, seeing as RVP cost a pittance, and the other is to ask where RVP is now.
So many comical excuses and imbecile stats.
Here's another stat for you that kind of renders every point you made null and void:
last season Alex Song had more assists than Mezut Ozil, Xabi Alonso's and Andres Iniesta.
Any fool can cite intangible bollocks to sustain a nonsensical point of view. Oh look, you just have!
(Les Ferdinand scored more league goals than Bergkamp, suppose it makes him better too

)
