Barcodes match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can't remember such a wide open second half to a game ever

Why is it that we can attack like that in some matches but at other times, and all too often, Villa,Norwich, etc , etc we look like we could be there for hours on end and not even muster a shot.

Anyway, Wenker will now have to bow down to Theo's demands or else be publically ridiculed (even more)

It was nice to see that occasionally we looked for a longer, more direct ball over the top, which made us less predictable than tip tapping our way to the edge of the box only to go all the way back to Chesney (which we still did once or twice)

Loved Walcotts whipped ball into Giroud, if he could only produce more like that.

Walcott, Podolski and Giroud must have now scored quite a few between them - did anyone take up Baba's bet ??

Legend has it Flash was forced to play in goal as any time he pushed forward anywhere near the halfway line his nose would invariably be flagged offside.

Although to be fair to him, flash wasn't only a goalkeeper. He started his career as a striker because of his ability to sniff a chance from nothing. Once the laws changed and the size of his hooter began causing offside problems, he didn't go directly into guarding the nets but switched to midfield because he could run and run. :-P Also we mustn't forget that he then became a defender, where he gained a legendary reputation for snuffing out opposition attacks.

just saw the game highlights.

Gibbs was clearly at fault for their 2nd and 3rd goals. back four isn't talking to each other imho.

walcotts third really was a cheeky chip - where does that come from ? his decision making is usually terrible....but all his goals were good. nice pass from gibbs for wallys second.

podolski was great - loved his reaction to his goal.

great feet from Giroud for his second, and so so unlucky not to get a 'perfect' hattrick at the end, only denied by the post after a great run and volley. as he rocked the cradle and stuck the ball up his shirt i'd guess he just became a dad. good for him.

a lot of empty seats still - a lot. i wonder if useless stan saw that on the telly back in texas :cussing:

overall, the scoreline flattered us as they gave us time and space and threw themselves forward. most teams won't do that. i mean this was a pardew team FFS...

strengthening the defence and coaching them is still the difference between 2nd and 4th/5th/6th i think. tight games are still a big big worry for me. win the next four games and we'll see about 4th, which i had given up on but others have slipped too.

we need five or six points from the next three league games, if we come out of the city and chavs games with nothing from both we're done.

at least they are before the end of the transfer window.

its hopefully a good thing we play the chavs and city before the end of the transfer window,if they show up our inadequacies then Wenker might delve deep before january is out.its kind of a double edged sword really, wed all love to get maximum points out of the january fixtures but we all know that if we did it would only flatter to deceive again,by march we would have totally capitulated and have feck all to show in 8 years.anybody else think we are slowly turning in to liverpool??so many false dawns :banghead:
