defoe is apparently out the door in Jan,i reckon he'd be a great signing,especially a great stop gap,anythings better than watching that lolliping oaf Barry Bender,and Deofe is a gooner too,what ya reckon??

Given that finding a top top striker in the January transfer window is going to be difficult (unless my many prayers are answered and Lewendovski signs), Defoe, at the right price, would be a great option off the bench and as a back up to Giroud. I'd still prefer a better striker than Olivier but I know we live in the real world.

I'd love to see him score the winner at the Swamp.

Does anyone know if he'd be eligible to play CL football?

We should test Villa's resolve with a substantial bid for Benteke in Jan. Also for me Remy would be a better option than Defoe.

I agree. Remy was held up to some ridicule in August when others suggested signing him, but I think he's decent (certainly of similar ability to Soldado) and isn't so different to Giroud (a bit quicker but not as good with his back to goal). I'm so desperate for another striker that I'd happily take Defoe or Remy in the short-term.
Has Remy signed for the season or could we poach him?
Even Ba would be a massive improvement on the dross we've got backing up Giroud.
However, with 35 million still unspent, we should be a lot more ambitious.

He'd be an idiot to sell him to us. Defoe is a great option to have off the bench, he's lively and has a habit of popping up in the right places.

If Arsene fails to sign a striker (at the very very least) in January he needs to be sacked. We will not win the PL relying on Giroud for the entire season. Not slating Giroud (who has done brilliantly since he arrived) but let's be honest he is limited and cannot play every game at that level without getting injured and/or losing form for at least part of the season. Our current other options are pitiful; The Fat Drunk, That Part Time Postman Bloke and the Injured Again Feo Feo (who is not a great striker either way!). Arsene obviously doesn't fancy our actual best finisher (Podolski) as a striker so I'm not including him in our current options.

Straight the fuck up, we have a half decent chance of winning the PL this season, our best chance since we fucked it away in the January transfer window in 2008, but that chance this season will go up in piss if Wenger doesn't strengthen this squad with at least 3 or 4 signings in January.
