Strangely, I'm not at all nervous for this game. Honestly think we'll win comfortably - especially if we score early.

Can you imagine the fallout if we do lose, though?

The players would be so traumatized we'd probably never win anything with this current era. Fuck me it would be a disaster.

The only solace I guess is that Wenger would surely fuck off never to be seen again.

Fuck me, i wasn't nervous at all until I read this thread :o

Like many others have stated an early goal will settle the nerves and get the party started. I actually hated the semi final, didn't enjoy it until the last penalty had gone in.

I find this whole thing, and especially the reaction it has caused amongst the nervous fans on here, to be amusing  Parades, like every single enjoyable public event, requires planning clearance/police overtime organising/barrier fences erected (steady on  ) etc etc etc so we are putting plans in place cos that is what the law requires 8)

Can those Gooners that are worried about this going tits up on us, please chill the fcuk out ? In the semi's the pressure was on us but we wont be under pressure Saturday and will win this game COMFORTABLY 8) Yes there will be a meltdown of nuclear proportions if they fcuk this up, but it is not gonna happen so I aint going to worry about it

There where burnt out cars when we won the league, I can see it being carnage down the blackstock road if we lose.

To say that we will easily win is a bit ambitious imo. Even with the great Arsenal sides of past years there always was an element of doubt. That couple with the fact this team recently fucked up vs brum doesn't mean we should be overconfident imo.

This is the team that played in that fateful match vs Brum:

53 Szczesny
03 Sagna
06 Koscielny
20 Djourou
22 Clichy
07 Rosicky
08 Nasri
17 A Song
19 Wilshere
23 Arshavin (Chamakh 77)
10 Van Persie (Bendtner 69)

Only Szczesny, Sagna, Kos, Wilshere and Rosicky remain, and 3 of those are very unlikely to start on Saturday. So I'm taking a bit of confidence from that.

I keep thinking this has the potential to be the single biggest fuck up in our history. Everything is on a platter for us to wipe the floor with them and shut the media up all summer but I just don't trust Wenger to properly motivate this lot to win. We are infamous big stage bottlers and have been for years. The fact that Hull are pish doesn't inspire confidence and as Wigan showed last year, anything can happen in a cup final.

The upside to losing is he will resign. I JUST WANT A TROPHY FFS.

I just hope on saturday agendas get thrown out the window and we just pull together and get behind the team. The support was fantastic for the semi even when we where losing.

1989 despite the personnel changes this squad clearly has inherited/maintained the same inferiority issues imo. Although it was not as humiliating as the drubbings, the defeat at Old Trafford really sums it up for me. We were supposedly riding high playing fast, expansive, attacking football, whilst they were struggling to kick-start their season and tactically were pretty shoddy. Even without focusing on the terrible performance, the body language of the players at 1-0 was extremely worrying - a lot of staring at the ground, slumped shoulders and forlorn looks. I don't think the team believes they can win games like that.

This is a bit different as it's the occasion rather than the opposition which is laying on the pressure. I think we'll win the game as there is a significant gulf in class and things have fallen into place nicely for us in the last few weeks with Ozil and Ramsey coming back and a few morale-boosting flat wicket victories. But I equally wouldn't be remotely surprised if we make hard work/a pig's ear of it. What we've done very well this season is consistently beaten the teams outside the top 7, and the comfortable nature of our 2 wins against Hull already show that if we turn up and play at anywhere near full capacity we will be fine.

I think the most noticeable thing about that team was how devoid of any leaders it was. That's not the case now with the likes of BFG, Rambo and Arteta in the team.
